I am a South African and for us there is mostly one thing we all do, that is having a braai. It is the most favourite meal of all South Africans ans it involves a lot of "visiting" around the fire.

I'm not familiar with that. What kinds of food are included in that meal?

Easter celebrations in Croatia is just a happy occasion and is  the holiest day of the year. I have to show my good skills in painting as many eggs as possible. By tradition it is the most followed.

This year I'll be spending Easter with my mom and she celebrates it with colored eggs, ham, roast beef, roast pork and pierogis (polish dumplings)...and I'm looking forward to it because everything is just so delicious! How about you??

      Hello moonfairy,
That sounds wonderful!  There will only be 2 of us this year since our daughter will be away spending her Spring break on a Christian mission trip. We will probably have a roast leg of lamb or baked chicken w/ veggies. Best wishes!

We usually have lamb, my husband's choice, although I don't personally eat red meat. It's a bit symbolic, I suppose -- I wrote a hub on Passover foods and the health benefits, outside of their religious significance, in helping the Israelites flee Egypt, if anyone's interested ... http://hobbynob.hubpages.com/hub/Passov … From-Egypt

Well, we have always done ham, but this year we are switching it to steaks and asparagus on the grill!  We put olive oil and garlic salt on the asparagus! Delicious!!

A first for us - We're grilling salmon.  Ralph's always has great sales on frozen salmon, so I think it will be fun to get everyone involved in helping out on the grill.  We're transplanted from MN, so taking advantage of California weather is really fun for us.  I'll make my "Best Hot German Potato Salad Ever" (I just named it that). Oh, and we're going to have the "Ceremonious Cutting of the Honorable Lemon."  (We grew our first lemon ever, so I think we'll cut the lemon in some kind of celebratory ritualistic way. Maybe we'll have lemon merigue pie.) Happy Easter to Everyone!

Welcome to California:)  Grilled salmon is always delicious, and your first home-grown lemon ought to make a perfect flavor-enhancing garnish. I'm sure it will be the first of many.  Best wishes for a warm and happy Easter! I appreciate your comments
