What are some things you do to increase you energy levels throughout the day?
I take a ten minute nap, it is very helpful. I was not expecting that I can do that but I used to do it. My Uncle is a doctor, he suggested this to me & it works well.
I might have to try this. Before my daughter was born I could take 3 hours naps! I've lost this luxury, however, lol. You find that 10 minutes is enough time to feel refreshed and not sluggish?
Great question! My metabolism keeps me lethargic all day, while I am extremely energetic all night. So, I don't usually interfere with the biology. Yet, if for some reason if I have to raise my energy level to move the mountain, I use positive imagery, and visualization and find myself in action.
I really believe in allowing biology to do it's natural thing as well. It does help to use positive visualization, maybe that's why I have a hard time waking in the morning, because I keep thinking "I hate mornings!"
I"m at home most of the time, but I've found that opening all of my window shades and letting natural light in really helps me with my energy.
Yes! I find the natural light helps a lot too... it especially helps me to wake up in the morning.
Unfortunately, mine isn't an entirely healthy answer, but I do like something sweet with a coffee. I try to restrict myself to fruit, but sometime I do absolutely need that chocolate bar... lol!!
I usually drink a glass of apple juice or orange juice. Both will provide me with a lot of energy, especially when I had started to fatigue.
I get my butt off the ____ (chair, sofa, bed, floor, etc) and get moving... I think it was Isaac Newton that said bodies in motion stay in motion.
Prodigious amounts of strong black coffee for breakfast, then another cup of coffee for dessert after breakfast. That usually works for me
Exercise - it's the best way to build and maintain consistent energy. I also take a Panax Ginseng supplement every day as well. I find it boosts my energy and keeps me alert and focused without shaky, jittery stimulant effects. It's just a nice, subtle boost.
Believe it or not, a DEEP BREATH and a few minutes of meditation can recharge you. Most people get lethargic also because they are dehydrated and don't drink enough water. Lots of sluggishness also happens because a lot of people have glycemic spikes from an imbalance of blood sugar. It is best not to have high sugar snacks as it only makes you crash. And of course taking a few minutes of fresh air is really helpful, too. Many of us work inside unhealthy buildings where the air does not recirculate - fresh air really does help.
Of course, getting a solid night's sleep every night will prevent mid-day slumps. We may not realize it but the QUALITY of sleep we get each night is really important. It is helpful to get a notepad before you go to bed and release all the thoughts that are floating around in your mind, so you don't obsess over things and you can truly lay your mind to rest to ensure your day ahead will be one full of pep.
Starting your day off with a good breakfast (not one high in sugar), is also helpful along with a multivitamin that is 'time released' - so you have something to sustain you all day long.
Good question. Actually I take a 10-30 minute nap to reboot my mind. This works for me and it helps me to think better after taking a quick nap during the day. I'm a stay-at-home Mom and need ideas on how to stay energized during the day. If computers need to be rebooted sometimes to work better, of course humans need to turn off their brain for a few minutes to regain energy.
Believe it or not, running early in the morning keeps me awake for the early part of the day - I still hit that 2-3 o clock wall. At that point - it's espresso time!
Simply getting up and moving around works wonders as doing getting outside for a bit and breathing in some fresh air and feeling the sun on your skin. Too many people spend a lot of time on their duffs anyway. Five, ten, fifteen, or twenty minute exercise breaks is a good way to boost energy. Walking, running, using the elliptical, or trampoline feel good. Other times I put some sneakers on and practice my figure skating jumps off the ice and this is really a two-for-one because it transfers/improves my skills to the ice the next time I skate. Because I have problems sleeping, naps are only for when I am absolutely dead tired and cannot even think straight as the time I spend sleeping during the day usually interferes with my sleep that night.
A decreased level of stamina or energy is a fairly common issue. Thankfully, relatively simple lifestyle adjustments may be all that is necessary to correct the problem. read more

The subject line just about says it. I've been at a bit of a loss lately. Some of the things I usually use, such as free/automatic writing are beginning to bore me. Any suggestions?
