Have you been denied or paid more for medical services now that Obamacare is in effect?

"Keep your current plan," ..."keep your doctor..." ..."insurance costs will go down.." "your care will improve..."seniors won't face bankruptcy for a medical problem..." All promises of President Obama selling Obamacare. Now with many employers cutting hours so not to provide benefits, dropping insurance coverage to send you to gov't insurance, losing great plans due to 40% taxes on them, seniors losing tremendous amounts of coverage due to death panels, does anyone care?

My husband and I have a private insurance through his employment that we now have to pay more money for since the Obamacare is in place.  Nice.

With a genuine universal health care system it is impossible for employers to shaft you. But the health corporations were too strong to allow that system in the US.

There is no such thing as death panels. If we are going to debate Obamacare can we at least keep it honest? This is the kind of misinformation that isn't helpful.

Do employers try to dodge giving insurance to their employees - of course, but that is their fault, not Obama's.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of most Obama policy, but I do like to keep facts separated from emotion.

As for my personal care, it has not changed yet. I have the same doctor that I never go to anyway.  I have not yet looked into the govt. coverage, but I am sure it can't be that bad.  Years ago when I was on Medicaid it was the best insurance I ever had. Nothing was ever denied and I received excellent care.  When I switched over to private insurance through my job it was the insurance companies that denied coverage for basic needs and scalped us for everything.
That was many years before Obama and the insurance companies have been a joke forever.  Insurance companies that deny care are the true "death panels" Under Obamacare, everyone has to be covered.  A preexisting condition is no longer reason to deny you insurance and just let you die.

Where is your proof death panels exist? Please provide a credible source for this information so I can look at it.

Obama lied, and he lied BIG time. Obamacare is costing an arm and a leg. We are paying for this in every way. My real estate taxes went up, and I got a "special" bill that tacked on an additional $1500. Wait until the pet tax hits.

I don't think real estate taxes and pet taxes have anything to do with Obamacare. Real estate taxes are a state tax. I never heard of being charged a tax on pets. Why do you think any of this has to do with Obama care???? None of them are Federal tax

I like that Barbara, I have a friend who is a city employee. I bitched about his work ethics. He proclaimed that taxpayers did not pay his salary, permit holders did. I asked: are permit holders taxpayers or are the exempt? No was his answer. OK

Believe it or not, STATE, COUNTY, and CITY employees have health insurance. It isn't free. It includes school teachers, sheriffs, police, and other staff. All of their health insurance has gone up, Babs, so now taxes must go up to pay for OBAMACARE

Obamacare has not fully gone into effect, so it is impossible to tell what is happening with regards to billing.  I have a hub about the upcoming changes for 2014 if you want to learn more, or you can go on whitehouse.gov for more info.

You are correct, not feeling full effects as yet. Restrictions on surgeries, medications, durable medical equipment are all in effect and getting tighter.

Remember that the insurance pool has not yet been widened to equalize costs yet.  This will happen in January.  Many medical people are charging more now to protect their own interests...but this is not Obama's fault.

Our insurance costs did go up, but they were going up before Obamacare. We are still covered for everything. The people it may hurt are the ones that could have insurance through their employers, but don't take it.

If you have over 15 employees, I think that is the number, you have to provide insurance even if they are part-time after the middle of 2014. Employers have been pulling the part-time hiring here in Michigan for years to save money. If they are a large employer, they won't get away with that anymore.

In factories, they are having everyone working more hours, so they don't have to pay for insurance for as many employees. Sorry, but regards to jobs they all just aren't so good anymore.

If you check out the rates that Obamacare will have, I don't think you'll complain so much. Employers will be fined if they don't provide insurance though.

Personally I myself haven't seen a drastic change in my health benefits, since Obamacare.  I used my health benefits once last week, for a yearly exam with my Doctor.  And did notice that my Copay was 10.00 less then it was last year for the same blood work & physical check-up and I have the same insurance plan.  I believe that all of us will feel, or see the change, hopefully for the better during the early part of 2014.

i have recently been denied coverage by the state of kansas. from what i understand, kansas is refusing to accept federal funds (refusing obamacare, maybe? i don't know...i don't completely understand), and that is why i am currently without coverage...hoping to get it all figured out soon. very frustrating.

Yes --- absolutely. Employer immediately switched plans to a huge deductible scenario with less coverage and much higher co-pay.

My accusation is that they used it as a basis to change.

This is not easy. And not easier with politics, medicine, the populace and insurance all playing a part.

My insurance premium skyrocketed for a policy I had that covered my son and myself. How was it making it more affordable for me to pay over $350 a month for two people who are extremely healthy. Me, who only used the insurance when I was pregnant, and my son who has never been to the doctor besides for wellness visits.

Due to losing my job last year, I lost the medical coverage I've been on for years. I signed up for the cheapest insurance I could find (relatively low premiums, high deductible). It was half the price of what I would have had to pay for Cobra.

Well, as luck would have it, I got sick and ended up spending a couple of days in the hospital. I was actually pretty impressed with my cheapo insurance (Anthem Blue Shield). I am having to pay the maximum out of pocket deductible, but other than that they did give me great coverage and saved me from a lot of debt I would have owed if I hadn't had insurance.

I'm not sure what effect the Affordable Healthcare Act (AKA Obamacare) had on any of this, but I got better care than I was expecting.
