Even the Godmen use words, but they also tell you that words are inadequate. The state of utter bliss is impossible to describe. There is a book by Sri Chinmoy called Samadhi and Siddhi in which he talks about the three states of Samadhi and the transcendental consciousness. Sri Ramakrishna also talks up to a certain point. You can find Sri Chinmoy's poem The Absolute on the net, and perhaps Bramananda's description somewhere. Still, all these guys still tell you that it cannot be described.
Do a search on Sri Chinmoy and Nirvana. He speaks of this.

When you first start to get off after eating multiple tabs of ecstasy, it really doesnt get much better than that.

It is that kind of sick consciousness that creates pain and suffering for so many of God's children.

Religion creates pain and suffering and has been for thousands of year's, that just makes you tired for a few days after.

As the question is, 'How would YOU describe utter bliss and/or complete nirvana?' there are no wrong answers.

Bliss is an individual experience, each as true as the other.

There is opportunity for every answer to evolve as a person grows.

Nirvana is the state of being one with the universe and all knowing.  Since knowledge is the foundation for everything achieving nirvana means knowing everything.  Life is growth.  Without knowledge there is no growth. This is why achieving nirvana is the ultimate goal of every person who seeks bliss.

With all respect, how can nirvana be a goal to be achieved when life is never-ending growth? How can everything ever be known when creation is ever-unfolding? Also, there is an essential distinction between intellectual knowledge and innate knowing.

In the 70s, in a log cabin in Rocky Mountain National Park, I interviewed Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of TM, for my high school newspaper. He spoke of bliss as mirth wrinkled his brown face.

In the 40 years since, I have learned that no outer guru is needed in order to know bliss and nirvana. Bliss and nirvana are as ever-present as the universe itself, and always accessible when allowed by any person. It is simple, but not easy. I have experienced a brush with bliss and told the story in one of my hubs.

Any teaching outside myself as well as inhibitions within, hinder the experience of bliss. How can I know innate bliss when I always quote a teacher, something that someone else said, or stand on 'what is written' as my source of knowing?

Knowing is not a static pool. It is an always flowing stream, cascading into new combinations and relationships, a kaleidoscope of creation. What someone said yesterday has not caught up fully with the new reality of today. The only constant is pure consciousness.

The mass consciousness of society is diametrically opposed to bliss as it promotes fear, greed, lack, consumption, pride, and false ideas of importance. Everything but natural, universal bliss.

Drugs are not necessarily a sick passage to some semblance of bliss, but they are not necessary and can open one to more complicated delusions of the astral world than even society imposes.

Bliss is known when guards are let down, fixed ideas are let go, the ego is humbled and the true self is allowed to fill the body and expand into union with the inter-connectedness of all that is, on multiple dimensions.

I certainly am not an expert on this; however, I will simply suggest that after we expire/pass-on there may indeed be a preponderance that occurs that approaches this plain or level. That being "utter bliss" and/or Nirvana. When I was comatose I may have experienced something approaching what one calls utter bliss or Nirvana.
This is how I describe it:
It was indeed blissful. most serene and void of negativity... More precisely, I felt like I was flying through time and space, eventually reaching an Eden-like place where I underwent some kind of "healing" or change. It was significantly peaceful, beautiful both physically and mentally, and most significantly enlightening...

There is a chemical in you're body that gets released at death and near death experiences called Dimethyltryptamine, its also a synth drug called DMT, and it creates heavy tripped out feelings and visuals. Hence the whole white light theory.

I had no white light experience; it was not a "tripped-out" experience on the contrare it was significantly real and tangible with elements during the experience that manifested after also that seemed to indicate the reality of it...

That was a generalization. Same thing caused you're experience, look it up! Not everybodies is the same. Good Christ!

residentstone, I experienced 'tripped out' & visuals from ayahuasca (DMT), and  natural, non-chemically induced conscious bliss which came without effort. The two were distinctly different. The 1st was astral, the 2nd higher dimensional. Not rela

      rs,

Fear, love and exertion each make the heart beat faster. Are they the same experience? Hardly.

In a coma or on a drug trip, a person may see white light. There may be similar physiological responses. But are they the same experience? Hardly.

Did'nt say they were, just said that chemical Dimethyltryptamine, gets released when you die or near death experiences, and it's the leading cause of white light, or whatever experience you have in death or near death, it's a fact.

      rs,

Yes, I got that DMT is a leading cause of a white light experience, which connorj did not have.

Yet, even with a commonality of white light, there are very different experiences.

Also, rs, I believe you, that you've had 1000s of DMT trips.
