Is The Jewish Messiah And The Christian Messiah The Same?

IF NOT, WHICH ONE IS THE "REAL" MESSIAH?

I would say yes. Christians believe the messiah forecast in the Old Testament of the Bible has already appeared on Earth in the form of Jesus Christ. Jews, on the other hand, still await the first coming of that messiah. Thus, the second coming of Christ for Christians would be the first coming of the messiah for Jews.

It was never prophesied that the Messiah would come to us two times. It is simply not biblical. If you believe this why do you say Yahshua has fulfilled the whole law?

Hmm, two faiths built upon the same book of old. Both accepting the coming. One group believes he has come and the other that he has not but both believing there is one and that he will come in the future.
So does not one that does not believe He already came believe it could be the same in the future?
I would have to say no. Because if they believed it was the same one then their belief is wrong.
Remember this ain't science it is about spiritual belief. So proof is not for those who demand it in the empirical sense.
Yes indeed they are exclusive. Jews for Christ must not accept Him as the Messiah or they are in fact Christians. And sense the labeling is done through faith, they are inconsistent.

You are correct and that is just what I told Lone77star. Jews do not just look at scripture as literal we look at it in every way possible. And if they believe Yahshua was the true Messiah than they are not Jewish at all, but Christians in disguise.

Let this stand as the truth of the Jews. We must accept this. Jews have a history like this. It has worked well for them.

From the Jewish point of view, they are not the same. Some Jews believe the Messiah is still to come, while others have rejected the concept of a Messiah. From the Christian point of view, they are one and the same. Jesus is the promised Messiah and he is the one spoken of in the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures).

Yes I would say so. Christians believing that Jesus Christ has already come. The Jewish believing the messiah is yet to come. The Jewish people go by the Old testament of course, because the New testament was written after Christs' death, in which they do not believe. Hebrew scriptures in the Bible speak of the one messiah. This is Jesus Christ. I believe he has come and died for all's sin. Jewish people are still waiting.

If you are a Christian yes If you are Jewish no.  The Jewish say that the Messiah has not come yet.  They do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Yes, they are the same. And the Jews who disagree are led to that disagreement by literal interpretations that trap them, just as much as biblical literalism traps many Fundamentalist Christians today.

    http://www.the-love-of-god.com/blog/bib … omination/

Prophecy could not have been completed if many Jews (not all) had not rejected Christ.

I had even heard a tale (I don't know how true) that Gautama Siddhartha Buddha had once thought a far greater teacher with red hair would come in the West. I've known many Jews with reddish hair. Could Jesus have had reddish hair? Did Buddha "follow Christ" in the truest sense of the word?

Truth is Truth, no matter what label you put on it. Hunger for Truth. Hunger for understanding.

I think Christ would approve. It's the loving thing to do.

Very interesting way of looking at it. Much food for thought. I have heard the same of Buddha.

I disagree with you. Certain things were prophesied about the Messiah that Yahshua simply did not do. The Jews who believe this about Yahshua are Messianic and they are really Christians in disguise as a Jewish person
      No true Jew believes this

I am not a Jew but married to one and I was converted to Judaism so I am Jewish.
No the Christian messiah is not the Messiah to come. The Christian Jesus aka Yahshua did not fulfill all of the prophecies that was prophesied about the Messiah.
    There are many.
Messiah means that a person has been anointed with oil by pouring it on his head to become a king.
Now the reason's why he couldn't have been the promised Messiah

According to Jewish scripture and belief, the true Messiah

    must meet the following requirements.

    • Be an observant Jewish man descended from the house of King David

    • Be an ordinary human being (as opposed to God in the flesh or a divine man)
There is no such thing as a  divine man, to be divine  means to have no limits.
Jesus had limits and always depended on God for everything he said and did (as we all should) John 12:49
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

Jesus (according to him) said he and God were in one accord    and the things he said were about the Father (not about him) and that the Father was doing all the works
    John 14:10
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

    • Bring complete peace to the whole world

    • Gather all Jews back into Israel

    • Rebuild the ancient Temple in Jerusalem

    • Unite humanity in the worship of the Jewish God and Torah observance

Because Yahshua (Jesus) did not meet these requirements, from the Jewish perspective he was not the Messiah.

Because of the difficult time under Roman occupation and persecution during the era in which Yahshua lived, it is not hard to understand why so many Jews longed for a time of peace and freedom

What most people don’t know is that Yahshua is only one of many Jews throughout history who attempted to directly or indirectly lay claim to being the Messiah.
    John 14:10
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

When  Jesus said "the Father that dwelleth in me" He spoke of the Holy Ghost which actually means in Hebrew, the sacred power of God" not a third person

If you truly mean that, you are welcome and thank you for taking the time to say so

I can see that you are honestly thinking. Yes, Jesus is the promised Messiah. Messiah means chosen one..
I would get rid of the yin-yang symbol if you are trying to reach people..
