   I think it's totally okay and acceptable for a man to be a virgin. Nothing at all wrong with that.

   It's okay for either gender to be a virgin. After all it's a (personal) decision whether or not to have sex.
   Traditionally in the U.S. most guys can't wait get to away from the virgin tag. Many of them have in fact been known to lie about experience they have yet to have. They link sexual experience to manhood. It's right up there with having a driving license or owning a car. The other guys will envy them.
   During the hippie era of the 1960s we had the "sexual revolution" or "free love" movement. Better birth control methods made it possible for women to have sex on par with men without the fear of unplanned pregnancy. More and more couples began to move in together without being married. It was termed "shacking up" or "playing house".
   Today over 52% of the weddings that take place in the U.S. are of couples who lived together prior to getting married. It's safe to say that generally speaking a woman's virginity is not valued as high as it use to be. In fact the older the woman is the less she is expected to be a virgin in the U.S.
   Most men want to believe they have  more sexual experience than the women they're with. It's been said men tend to inflate their number and women will deflate their number.
   Most teens have had sexual intercourse by age 17 in the U.S. according to statistics. That doesn't include other forms of sex such as oral, manual, or anal. In theory as long a the female hymen is intact she is clinically a virgin.

      Amazing isn't it? Society's changing nature I mean, constantly in motion. 150 years ago, a 17 year old woman (girl?) would already have been married and expecting their first children. Today it is illegal to marry a 17 year old. Interesting good post

   At one time it was and I still think it is important for a woman to not to give herself to anyone until marriage. She won't be respected by other males  if she lost her virginity to someone else than her husband. Men on the other hand are just that they can go about with many women and still be men. Whereas women will be degraded and lose their reputation.  It has always been that way  in culture for men to be free and women  to be careful about who they give themselves to.

   It is a reflection on our social values. sames as if a man sleeps with a hundred different women he is considered a 'stud' and if a woman sleeps with 100 men she is a more derogatory term.

      Only other men consider the promiscuous man to be a "stud". Women call him a "dog". However men don't care what (women) think about their sexual behavior. They're out to impress men! Women attack women and they care what (men) think about them!

      A "stud" for sleeping with 100 women I think not. That warrants a DANGER sign with the words "HIGH RISK"
