When you see little problems do you confront them on the spot or put them off.
So many people put little problems off and then this in turns surfaces at another time and adding to the last little problem, and building until something small tips the scale and causes a huge unecessary blow up .This could have been avoided at the lowest level by just taking care of it at the first sign of trouble. So many people say oh it's no big deal and they truely contribute to the big explosion.
That describes me at times - letting the little things build until I explode. I think I do it because, at the time, that little problem really doesn't seem like a big deal and probably isn't. It's forgotten until a bunch of things build up and then each little thing gets blown out of proportion and I make a big deal out of something that isn't.
Start solving them asap, & you become a problem solver..A problem solved should never come back, & if it does you've already solved it once so it's not a problem now....By working on the small one's first it gives us great practice at logically solving issues in our life, to then go on & start tackling the medium sized problems....Which as we've now expanded our comfort zone by eliminating all of our small problems/worries, those that we're before seen as medium problems are now seen as small problems. :-)
Fine answer. The world could use a whole bunch of you!
Lol Penny I've honestly just taken a full year off work, just to once & for all get to the route of all my problems/bad habits etc..Well i managed it, & believe anyone can do it..What i mentioned is what i had to do myself, so your welcome ma
For me, I think it depends on the situation. In relationships, or with family, friends, work, etc. I absolutely attempt to tackle the issue immediately because those are the kinds of issues that can build into an explosion with a very unwanted end result. I'd like to avoid that as much as possible.
However, in other things I can't say I always tackle the issue right away. For example, we're renting. The refridgerator stopping running. Called maintenance and it was replaced - with a used one. This one is not running as well as it should, but I dont want to bother management again, so I deal with no ice or icecream lol I'm sure the day is going to come when it no longer runs at all and that may be a bigger issue then. Maybe I should just call them lol...
Well, now in hindsight, actually considering the potential consequences has encouraged me to do something. Maybe that's exactly what's missing when people don't immediately tackle an issue: the lack of projection &/or belief that something worse can happen later. This might have just changed the way I see those seemingly small things... Great thought-provoking question!
Thank you for your input very well thought out.
Great advice mothersofnations, & i like your name....Anyway I'd like to add that the best thing i started to do, was to use logical thinking like your doing..There is always a "most logical" answer, it's just being aware at the time to use logic.
DaveAdam, yes, logical thinking, so important. I think sometimes we're so busy we allow things to slip right past us until it becomes an obstacle. And thank you for the compliment on my God-given user name God bless you.

Do you know someone that lies consistently and do you confront them or let it go?Some people lie to make themselves look better and I think some just do it out of habit. If someone lies to you on a regular basis do you confront them or are you afraid they'll get defensive and let it go?

I have been an insomniac all of my life. Even as a young child I remember laying in bed night after night, trying to occupy my mind to starve off the crazies. It has stayed with me my whole life and I will probably have to deal with it forever. I'm lucky if I sleep 3 hours a night, if I...

1. Don’t put him out or leave him - yet.Instead of your first move, putting your husband out or leaving him should be your last resort. You may eventually decide to do this, but for now, it’s the worst thing you can do. Right now you need to keep a close eye on what’s going on. It’ll be easier to...

Whenever my son comes home from his godparents' house, it feels as though I've taken 2 steps backward in parenting. He leaves with respect and discipline and returns a whiny, disrespectful, defiant kid who I barely recognize. When I'm there with him I use my own rules, his godmother knows how we...
