What is your feeling towards death?  Do you welcome, fear, embrace or are you resigned to death?

Do you view death as the ultimate experience/graduation into yet another evolution phase of life and/or consciousness?  Or do you view death as a final curtain, absorbing and/or going into final nothingness?

The eastern philosophers focus on the state prior to birth. Wherever the person was, that's the reality. They don't get hung up on the body. So when the body goes, they simply return to the place where they were prior to entering a body, or just enter another body.

I think it is a state of transition from one state to another, like seasons and cycles are, but I also realize that until it happens none of us knows for certain.  For that reason, I feel that it's best to focus on life and living as well as one can.  Death happens to everyone, truly it is the one thing that is equal among all mankind.  Why stress about the inevitable? I'm not afraid of death.  What scares me is the idea of going before my children are grown and self-sufficient, other than that I'm ok with it; it's just a part of life.

I agree with you, none of us knows for certain and while we are here we need to live and focus on life.

I don't have a death wish or anything but I'm eager to see what awaits me after this life. Even though I haven't fulfilled all of my desires, I won't be sad to say 'so long'. And if I thought I would never see loved ones again, I'd be sad about that. But I don't think that's the case. I'm thankful to God for the life I have but I could move on… I'm definitely not afraid.

Although I can only speculate; in 2003 I was comatose for a month and that particular experience enables me not to fear death and view it as a stage and not merely the end-all. I think many are in for a rude awakening when they do pass, though. I became keenly aware that He knows everything about our life on this 3rd rock from the sun. I had my most significant confession when I recovered from my comatose experience...

What exactly do you mean by "rude awakening?" and who is the "He?" Are you a religious person?

      Excellent questions indeed...
He refers to God or what some refer to as our Creator. It is my understanding (from my comatose experience) that He knows everything we have done or failed to do...

To answer this there is another question to answer. How far are we from our own death?
The answer is one second. Science has got no formula to calculate how long we will be living and hence we carry the risk of dying every possible moment. It may, will and has to occur. So a second ago a person maybe alive and the next he will be dead. The person may have lived a hundred, or fifty, or five years. The person maybe in coma for ten, two or one year. But until he is dead he is always pronounced alive. So we are one second away from death.
Thus if we are always one second away from death why fear it. The best way would be to live to the fullest and accept that death is just a moment away from us.
