   I think they would have subtle differences even though twins. I think there would be differences in their personalities. However, if they were really, really physically identical, even after some aging and were like so many twins are: in that they are really close to each other and can finish each others sentences, then it might be possible that they could imitate the other twin and fool someone that wasn't keenly aware.

   You will just know. Like how can you not know. If you love someone so much and are close to them, you can recognize the little things. Like I can recognize the different footsteps of my family members. Plus though they are genetically similar, they will look different. They may have a beauty mark, mole or burn mark or scar somewhere. One person's head maybe slightly larger, etc.
   Look at The Mowry sisters ( if you don't know them google them) they are identical twin sisters but you can easily tell them apart. Tamara has a mole, and her eyes are happier looking then her sister's (Tia).
   Even if you can't tell them physically (which seems crazy), you will know things about the twin that others may not know. This twin will know personal things about you too!!!
   It's the subtle things that count and if you're getting married to a twin, you SHOULD know the difference. If not shame on you!!!

   If you spend enough time with someone you'll pickup on their mannerisms and how they react to things. Even identical twins retain some individuality traits.

   I'm married to an identical twin.  If you are with someone everyday you can easily tell the one you are with by sight.  I watch as we go to family gatherings, relatives that haven't seen the twins in a while can't tell them a part.  If twins really wanted to fool someone, it is easier to do early on in the relationship and harder to do the longer you know both of them.

   I'm reminded of the episode of the office where Michael Scott is at a party with the women from the hibachi restaurant and he keeps confusing her with the other girl from the restaurant... so he marked her with a marker or something. That would seem to work.

   Establish a code phrase. You say, "peanut butter penguin," and if she doesn't instantly respond with "taco rhythmic samurai," she's the doppelganger--I mean, other twin.
