   What is the most annoying thing about the Christmas/Holiday season?
   
   What do you find to be the most painful about the holiday season? Is it the same dozen songs repeated over and over and over? the rampant selfishness and consumerism? The inability to park at the store on weekends?  What part of the holiday season brings out the Grinch in you?

   The most annoying part is the list of people who expect gifts.  It is difficult to give really valuable gifts to so many at the same time: I'd rather give everyone great birthday gifts.

      One of my coworkers starts Christmas shopping in January.  He buys 1 or 2 gifts each time he gets paid to spread out the expense.

      I'd prefer that too over doing it all at once.  I don't have a large extended family though and I limit my gifts to only my parents, kids, husband and sister and I try to spread it throughout the year.

   Christmas shopping!  I do it all online now.  The last time I was at the mall during the holiday season, it was incredibly crowded.  People were ill-tempered, pushing, shoving and smelled like they hadn't bathed in a week.  That was years ago and I haven't been back since.  I shop from the comfort of my home now and have everything delivered to me.  Hallmark starts putting out their Christmas stock in July, so I have my cards and wrapping paper already.

      I'm an Amazon prime member so I do this too. I'd rather take a beating than go to a mall lol.  I also will sometimes shop immediately after the holiday season to get things like paper, craft supplies etc on clearance for the next year .

   Those atrocious Rankin & Bass stop-motion Christmas movies. Why in the unholy hell do people enjoy those cancerous wastes of celluloid?!

Any adaptation of A Christmas Carol! Home Alone! Die Hard! Tokyo Godfathers! The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya! Bad Santa! National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! Arthur Christmas! Miracle on 34th Street!
   
   Why settle for garbage when there's a humongous heap of actual GOOD films?!

   It used to be long lines in stores, but these days it is the inevitable Theists VS Atheists arguments that go on in the media and the 'net during the season. These bickering groups can be so nasty to each other. Dear goddess, it has got so bad I just want to scream sometimes. Celebrate or don't celebrate, people, and leave everyone else the same darned right.

   The commercialization of the holiday season. It has evolved into a gold mine for retailers. People have actually forgotten the real reason for the season.

   The fact that it goes against the teachings of the man for whom it is celebrated. The whole "selling" and "worship" thing, I think, would disgust Jesus, from everything I have learned about him.

      I would be inclined to agree - it's a free for all for retailers and puts so much pressure on people to consume stuff they don't need.

   For me, it has to be that "the season" starts before Halloween now. Where I live, the stores have Christmas stuff out weeks before Halloween and honestly it makes me just sick of it by Thanksgiving...like totally over it, be gone, ugh!

   The "war" on Christmas. It seems to become an annual event of total bunk just to stir up ratings. It has tarnished what is otherwise a very cheerful season and created an 'us vs them' mentality.

    For me, it's the music, plus the fact that my work hours / paycheck is cut while I'm expected to spend more.  Years when  I've managed to save money, I can spend that free time travelling, but otherwise it's a burden.
