Hi Hubbers,
I have been thinking about whether it would improve traffic, google position and therefore clicks, by joining up with other hubbers who write on similar topics and linking together through text links.
For instance I link to all of your SEO hubs and you link to mine? In that way we would create like a mini site within hubpages. It would take a bit of work, but I think it could be worth a go.
Any thoughts? Has anyone tried it before?
Susana
Well I'm not going to ignore you on this (or anything else )
Form a STRONG Team.
I can Lick Them All... if you like?
LOL! I'm not even going to go there with the licking, though I'm very tempted
Brenda - Really glad you want to try it out!
So anyway, back to liNking. Yeh, i thought we could get a group of around 4-6 people - all good hubbers; and see what we could share. Have a little co-operative if you like. (Yes, I am a socialist, lol). It's just a question of connecting through the topics we write on. As an added bonus we could create anchor links in the text to each others main keywords for a particular hub. My main topics are:
pregnancy, childbirth, parenting
SEO, web development
business development & training
geography and travel
psychology and dreams
What are yours?
Its a strong concept, which could be augmented greatly by having partners who have external sites, mini sites, blogs, lenses and constant article creation
Ive considered the idea also
Hubmob doesnt even come close since its topic dependant and doesnt have an anchor text factor
So subjects I would partner with (not just hubpage articles)
fine arts, arts marketing, printing, web design
affiliate marketing, internet marketing, SMM (Facebook, myspace, twitter..etc.)
Vegetarian, Vegan, Health, Holistic, recipes
ebay, paypal, online auction software, payment processing
a lot of others, perhaps more will come out as I see others subjects
Lately when I write a hub I search topics and link to the page. For example, I did a hub on cat beds. I searched topics for cat accessories and created a link to that page. That is an easy way to join with similar hubs.
I only have unrelated hubs when I am part of the HubMob or during the 30 Day Challenge.
This is starting to sound like a traffic exchange in some ways.
How so? ...it is a web circle, or link exchange.
There are no similarities to a traffic exchange...one easy and important missing link "incentive" to viewer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_exchange
Yeh I guess web circle would be the term for it. I think with anchored keywords in each others articles we would boost each individual hub on search pages because they would be considered a group of related articles.
I think via email is the way to go on this. Good suggestion PearlDiver.
This is a good idea and can be done with some little effort from everyone , I'm relatively new to HubPages so maybe someone can explain what HubMob is so I can take a look
HubMob is a weekly topic decided by hubpages. The topic is posted in the forum and then you are directed to answer the question with a hub in that topic area. I think last week's was around plastic surgery.
The thing with HubMob is most times the topics don't really interest me that much. I did write one on sexuality and it was worth it in terms of HP traffic & gaining fans but didn't have any benefits beyond that.
I have an extensive range of Business, Consultancy, Troubleshooting, Selling, Training and Strategic Planning, Property, Mortgage Brokering skills.
The writing thing is only new. However; also knowledgable in history, art, sports, travel & tourism, legals, cooking and outdoors.
Like most.. I can write on most subjects.
To take this further: Please email me; rather than open forum.
I also know of others who would compliment the objectives.
So, Susana you've opened a can of worms here, let me know the group format suggestions.
clever aren't you, if i tag on with my limited knowledge, i may reap your benefits, how does that sound
No Brenda, I'm not clever; I'm just someone who is self-taught and took the time to know his onions, well enough to do what others said I couldn't & do it better than the cynics.

I'd like to try Hubmobbing again, but I can't don't know what the topics are and when they come out. There needs to be easy access to this for all Hubbers--ideally, in our email, for those who want it. In the meantime, is there someplace on the site I can bookmark that will keep me up to date on...

Hubpages webmasters should try and initiate a monthly contest on a particular topic, even if it doesn't go with a cash prize but should a prize to encourage hubbers to participate, and the result should be by voting among hubbers and the outside community, how is the idea?
