   Would you ( or have you ever ) participate in "No Pants Day"?
   
   Promotions for the event of "No Pants Day" began to grow in the year 2000. The event is supposed to be held annually the first Friday in May. Would you go a whole day, even out in public, shopping, or to work, without your pants?

   The greatest disappointment in my life was not to participate in  No pants day !
   There I was   western sport coat , bolo - tie , polished red Spanish cut  leather  cowboy boots , bow legs ,    Stetson  4 x beaver  Montana cowboy  hat cleverly raked over one eye , ivory handled , chrome plated  dual Colt six guns at my hips . And my trusty  mustang steed at my beck and call ! ......But I just - { choking sounds }  couldn't bring myself to go !.........So I kicked back with  beers , some pop corn and watched those idiots  do it on TV !.......Maybe next year .

      LOL - Ed, you should write a poem about this. I can just see the image you paint and your reluctance to go out in public with all that fine 'get up' and ....

   I wanted to answer this question by just saying "NO" but we have to answer questions with a certain amount of characters to get posted. So now I have enough characters . . . . NO WAY!!!!!!!

      LOL - I feel the same, Jan. No way would I go out like that. Did you see the pic on the internet with all the people on the subway with no pants? So brazen! Nope, not for me.

   No way. Definitely not. I would not even go around the inside of the house without pants. If there was a fire, or such, if I had to go out for the mail or other reason then I would want to be wearing pants.

      A small campus club at UOT in Austin first did it as a stunt at the end of semester. The club is the Knighthood of Buh. Eventually the "stunt" caught on in other states as well as the UK, Sweden, Canada, Australia and Finland.

      I never figured that out either, Ana. It started with some grads in Austin, Texas, who decided to go without pants to celebrate graduation day. Go figure.

   I had no idea this was even a thing. It sounds hilarious. I wouldn't go out in public if I was participating in no-pants day, but if I had the day off, why not?

   I had never heard of such a thing so I Googled it. I'm a fairly liberal person, but I don't think I would participate any more than I would participate in the Polar Bear Plunge. These people are crazy! Besides it wouldn't fit our dress code at work.

      Yes, it is crazy. They all wear boxer shorts with suit jackets and ties and make it a big day. I see no real reason for it other than craziness.

   Now, answering this as an adopted Canadian, I might just risk going out sans "pants" just for the sheer heck of it.  As an ex-Pat from the UK, to go without "pants" might be a whole lot more awkward as it refers to one's UNDER-pants.  That opens up a whole other can of worms me thinks...

      LOL  In this case, "pants" means slacks, trousers, jeans, or skirts. Crazy - especially in such cold weather.
