   What dessert do you associate with St. Patrick's Day?
   
   We are having a family get together that happens to coincide with St. Patrick's Day.  As a fun theme to our gathering, we are doing it up in  an Irish style!  I am looking for a dessert that will be either Irish flavors, green or just generally associated with St. Patrick's Day.  I thought I would see what ideas I could gather here from the readers.  Thanks in advance to each of you who comment!

   We usually have a spice cake decorated with shamrocks. I also like to fix barmbrack with sweet cream butter to have with strong black tea. Barmbrack is similar to raisin bread.  Traditionally it is supposed to have small pieces of fruit in it, but I prefer just raisins and walnuts.

   Pretty much anything that you can spread green frosting on. Shamrock shaped green sugar cookies are also great and fun!

   It's not the dessert, it's the dinner!  I look forward to corn beef with cabbage, and Irish soda bread.  Yum!

      Absolutely True!  We ALWAYS have corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots for dinner!  Our dessert has varied, so I was looking for something to create a family tradition!  We have never had the Irish soda bread!  That will need to be added!
