   You are an adult and you realise that you cant physically divide yourself in two to meet your parents health needs.
   
   Both of my divorced (and living at pretty much opposite ends of the country) parents have health problems and its not easy trying to keep up with everything. I never wished for siblings growing up but now I sure do wish there was someone to take a turn at going to a hospital appointment or driving for an hour to do the shopping etc.

      Got news for you Kirsty. Even if one has siblings, there is ALWAYS one sibling who has the MOST responsibility regarding parental care. Siblings DON'T share in the parental care. One sibling DOES the most while others go scot-free.

      Yeah my other half has two brothers who couldn't care less about anything that's going on unless it directly affects them so the other half is the one that helps out with everything that anyone needs help with.

      Exactly, my father 1 of 12 was the ONLY one who helped his parents & my mother 1 of 10 was the ONLY one who helped her parents. Even in adulthood, the siblings contacted her if they WANTED something, catch my drift.
