Is "Definitely" or "Definitly" a word?

    Is "Definitely" or "Definitly"  a word?

    No matter what word processing software I use, nothing recognizes that word,  meaning when I type in "Definitely", it underlines it in red, when I right click to correct this word,  it suggests words not even close that.  I'm definitely frustrated..oh wait, I mean defiantly, umm.. I  mean distantly... OK well "Definitely"  is not recognized as a word

    definitely is a word.  The built in spell and grammar checks are not always correct.  Simply do a search on the word, find definition, and online thesaurus to choose another word or use definitely.

    I definitely know that definitely is a real word. However, my spell checker tells me it's wrong and do I want to use defiantly instead. Go figure.

    Definitely is a word.  So what about define?   How does that one come out?   It does surprise me that such a word could be missed out by whoever uploaded or input the words to be shown on the spell check of a computer program.   

    I can't say I've ever noticed this glitch and I must have used that word 'definitely' many times.   But you've made me think that I must try it out now.  So as soon as I've finished this answer I will go to my word processing program and check it out.

    In the meantime, you go on using definitely because it definitely a word.

      Yes,  I 'm guessing some word processing software will recognize it, but for some reason Microsoft Word does not, but I think I can add it to the dictionary database
