   I think dreams are memories which have been distorted because over time, memories can fade and for our brain to put us back in situations in our dreams it needs to 'borrow' things from other memories.
   
   It's been said that you can't dream of something you haven't seen before, whether you drew it yourself, seen a person in a book or the street who you don't know or your own family members.

      Thanks for sharing your view. But some people see dreams without any connection to our life or that they may not seen yet. Bad dreams are best examples of such dreams..

   Dreams are the way the brain processes what happens in waking life.  They can be used to solve problems you have when you're awake.  A counselor taught me you can interpret your dreams by acting out all the characters and situations.  Doing this has given me lots of personal insight.

   I also feel that dreams are the results of memories of real life incidents and stories and fictional thoughts and fears that we encounter. With lapse of time, they may mix up and produce unimaginable dreams which may or may not have any resemblance with our real life.
   I mostly dream of wandering at unknown places (mostly deserted hills and lanes of villages). Sometimes, I climb through walls or hillocks which are muddy, broken and very narrow. I feel myself in search of my path or somebody. The dreams suddenly break, when I notice it is time to return. Very unnatural, it seems.

      I do not find any such meaning. They are dreams and we should not try to link them with some assumed meanings and start worrying about them.
