How long have you been on Hub Pages and why do you stay? The conversations? The people? The income?
Although my profile says 3 years, I spent most of that time away from the site. I just recently came back for multiple reasons.
I have been on Hubpages for over two years. It is the first online writing website that I joined and since then I was hooked. It is because I learnt that I can write articles here and also have met a lot of nice Hubbers here. I learn from other hubbers too from reading their hubs and not only that I like answering questions and asking questions. There is a friendly community here in Hubpages. Plus the passive income comes in handy. Every little helps as they say. Having said that, I also joined Webanswers, Twitter, and Pinterest. I learnt that there are other writing websites thru Hubpages. I don't write a lot these days as I got a full time job as well but yes I do enjoy writing here at Hubpages.
I'm here for many reasons. I can publish articles which I think might benefit others. Writing these articles makes me research and increase my own knowledge in the process. The people here are wonderful, staff is helpful, the platform is easy to navigate and there are so many wonderful people here who contribute to the forums and also write informative hubs rather than fluff to try to earn money.
5 years this week. 9 months of that I was not here. I'm here for everything you mentioned. I like knowing my phone bill is paid each month. I also have developed some meaningful relationships with a couple of people here outside of HP through facebook and email. One of the other hp members has become a lot like an internet mom to me.
I get very frustrated with HP at times, but what I get out of being here is worth the stress most of the time.
Welcome back, Keishia. August will mark three years for me. I stay here for several reasons, mainly because I actually do like the site. I'm also new to this online writing thing and have learned so much about the craft and the business. I like interacting with other writers and have fun doing it most of the time. I also like producing articles that end of being helpful or inspiring to searchers and to my clients.
I've been here for 5 years, though I didn't become consistently active until several months after joining. I had a falling out with a different writing website and came here as a sort of fall-back. I didn't stick around for the money (it's a bit of a trickle), rather I stuck around because of the variety. For the most part, HP let me write whatever I wanted. It didn't need to be in a specific format or about a specific subject. While I'm sure they're a bit stricter now, I still feel like I can write about whatever pops into my head.
And I also liked HP because they were very honest about how the money worked. They disclosed their cut, pointed to which places paid for ad clicks, and they didn't make impossible promises about getting rich. I feel that it's this sensible management that has kept HP alive when other writing sites have failed. I sincerely hope that continues, but I know that google updates keep cutting HP off at the knee.
I have been here less than a year, and I have become 'addicted' to HP. I would say it is the community that pulls me in, and the writings of good, experienced authors that give me rich pickings in readings.
I write to express my thoughts, so the freedom of subject choices is another good point.
Money-wise. . . .0/100
I have been on Hubpages for 1 year. I celebrated my anniversary on the site just this month.
i had been here for 5 years already. Didn't want to give up yet eventhough my earning could hardly get me a cup of coffee. Just love the people here
I'm going on 2 years. It's another way to socialize, make friends/acquaintances, learn some new things and earn a little change in the process. Sometimes, it gets bitter here but mostly the people are wonderful. If you are an aspiring writer then here is also a good place to work all kinds of writing. Eventually, you can get better to best at it. There are a lot of excellent writers to learn from here and some are more crafty with it. The research needed to be done can be amazing and rewarding too.

I don't know, maybe this is just a disgruntled Rant by myself, alone.I call myself a Writer. By default, this makes me a Reader. And, as someone who has the arrogance to think I am good enough to call myself a writer and a reader, I have opinions, on my works as well as the works of others. So, with...
