What makes you happy about your life that other people criticize?
What a profound question! Although I am a Senior Professor and Psychologist I carry on my habit of playing competitive ice hockey. Although I admit I enjoy this "hockey" time more than almost anything else, since I am 18 for the 3rd go-around our sun (54 years young) it seems to annoy many of my college colleagues and distance some of my relatives.
During one social event a colleague referred to my hockey-habit as childish and perhaps I was caught-up in my childhood still. Well since I am a psychologist I quickly asked the biped if they had any hobbies; she replied, yes I bowl. I simply thought to myself, "what a childish game" and replied, how wonderful! You have an outlet for exercise that is so enjoyable that it does not seem like exercise and most significantly it is excellent for cognition because of the emphasis on precision and consistency. Then I concluded with a classic "Bob Forbes" chuckle, if you imagine the bowling ball to be someone's head it could even help with the ideal externalization of your anger...
I don't believe that playing hockey is childish love your response to bowling, i will swing and slide with my kids at the park as other mom sneer and gossip,oh well i will roll in the grass sometimes, I have to grow older but not grow up.Lol
Indeed Nichol Marie, think of the memories you are building for both you and your loved ones! Carry on...
The fact that I prefer a quiet evening at home to being around a group of people.
I think that I have my homebodie days and I think its great to be able to relax although most of the time i like to go places, but i agree and do not like a big scene or crowds.
I enjoy and take pride in taking care of my husband. I work and run my business part time. He works 50 hours a week. It makes me happy to know that he comes home to a hot meal, clean clothes, and a clean home. I don't like when my day doesn't allow time to do those things for him.
With that said I am not some crazy overly conservative woman who "knows her place" and he would never dare tell me to get back into the kitchen, except joking. I just genuinely think he deserves to have time to relax and then play with the kids in the evening instead of having to do dishes or wash clothes. It seems what makes me happy is considered bad or wrong by many women these days. I don't understand why any one wouldn't want to take care of their spouse in that way.
I think that is great there is nothing wrong with that, at all.
My husband does the cooking because he is a much better cook but I try to make things special for him to when he gets home.
I'm as feminist as the next gal, and I feel the exact same way and do the same things. I feel it is a display of love and appreciation for what our partners do for us and should in no way be controversial.
I wouldn't say people overly criticize me for it, but some do poke fun at how much of a hippie I am. I make my own soap and beauty products, I "eat clean", tend to wear bohemian clothes, don't wear makeup except for very, very rare occasions. I make my own cleaners and avoid chemicals, I garden, I'm a big old tree hugger and can't stand waste, so I rehab and reuse everything. If I can't find it in a yard sale or a flea market I don't need it lol. People like to poke fun of our "granola eating, tree hugging" lifestyle a bit because we live in an area where our type are just not common, but it's all good. Different strokes for different folks and all that. So long as people don't treat us with hostility, I don't really give a hoot what anyone thinks .
i think that is awesome and talented i would love that.

What makes you happy?Although perhaps a cheesy question, if you search for it online you are likely to find "having a baby" or "getting married" but little else. These can be things that currently make you happy, things you think will make you happy one day if you get them,...

Whats makes you feel happy at the end of the day?I feel very depressed if I did not accomplish anything with my 14 hours of awakeness. If I made $100 I feel great, as long as I didn't spend $100.01. What makes you happy or unhappy when the day is gone.
