   My cats have constant access to dry food (and water) and they receive wet food as "meals" twice a day - well, the two who like the wet food anyway. I do have one cat who is perfectly happy with her dry food, as long as it's her preferred brand!
   
   I figure they have tastes and opinions too, just like us. I wouldn't want to eat the same thing all day, every day so I try to mix variety in by changing their treats or going for, say, chicken in gravy instead of salmon in gravy. Though treats *must* be crunchy; it seems to be their rule. ;-) But as long as the cats healthy, I want them to be happy with their food.
   
   And unlike the dogs I know, they'll only eat dry food when they're actually hungry and stop when full. I just add more to the bowls when I notice it getting low or empty. I get peace of mind knowing they always have the ability to eat even if I'm unaware they're hungry.

   I feed my dogs Blue Buffalo hard food. With a good quality hard food they will get to a point where they don't eat all of their food in one setting. You can actually just put their food in the bowl and them stop eating when they are full, and return to it when they get hungry again. Wet food is bad for their teeth, and honestly I don't feel like brushing my dogs' teeth 3 times a day.
   Wet food is reserved for the first day of Hanukkah, Christmas and my dogs birthdays (which are also the week of Christmas). Once in a while I will get it for them as a treat if Pet Smart is having a sale. I really just prefer hard food for it's health benefits, cost benefits, and easy storage.

   I feed my cats both. Dry for breakfast, lunch and late evening snack. Wet for dinner. They prefer both.

   I feed my dog wet dog food.  He doesn't like the dry.  I give him chewies to keep the teeth clean.

   My cat is fed both wet and dry food.   She has access to water and dry food at any time, and twice a day she is given wet food.   I try to vary it as much as possible, so that she doesn't tire of any one brand.   Raw mince is one of the items she gets, but not every day.
   Dry food is often Hills Oral Diet to prevent tartar on her teeth, and she does let me give her teeth a (very) short brush sometimes.
   I feel that a variety of foods is best for any pet.

   My cats eat both dry and wet food. However I leave a constant bowl of dry food and several bowls of water out all day.
