My favorite Elvis Presley song is "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" because every time I hear it I remember falling in love with my wife and how completely she captured my heart, and how much I still love her today, 27 years into our marriage.

Congratulations on your marriage! Elvis was my 13th cousin; a good friend of mine who was an Elvis tribute artist died four years ago on the anniversary of E's death.   So I miss both of them this week.

My favorite songs from Elvis Presley are Love Me Tender, Blue Hawaii, CanĀ“t Help Falling In Love With You, Rock Around The Clock and some others I forgot the titles.

Thelma, your list might have been shorter if you'd put down the Elvis songs you don't like.

I like Presley's rendition of the gospel number "Run On" that he recorded at age 25 with a large band, many whom were well known if I remember correctly. I can't listen to it just once - when I play it, I must hear it at least 15 times.

The song was recorded by an African American gospel quartet long before Elvis sang it and today, Moby has recorded it. In part:

"You may run and hide, slip and slide
Trying to take the mote from your neighbor's eyes
As sure as God made the rich and poor
You gonna reap just what you sow --
    *
You may run on for a long time
Run on for a long time
Run on for a long time
Let me tell you God Almighty gonna cut you down"
    *

I can't remember which Hub I have it on in a video, so you can go to YouTube and hear several versions.

Blue suede shoes, because it's funny. It's the first time I laughed at a song, and I was just a kid then. So, despite love me tender, love me dear, it's still Blue Suede Shoes for me.
