Should transgender people be allowed to change the legal documentation to match their chosen gender?

I can't really see any reason for why not. Charge them a fee, just like you would for handling any other document, and let it go. Bonus income for the administration, or at least the costs of handling the papers paid for, while more freedom for the individual.

What would be the purpose of changing their legal documentation?

Are they then going to wear a blue, pink or rainbow ribbon to coincide with their decision?

Does it make a difference whether you tick the M or the F box when you pay your taxes, or get a driver's license, buy a ticket for the movies?

It may make them feel uneasy and create weird situations. Far easier to just charge an administration fee and let them change it, just like one can change their names.

People don't get to choose gender.  God does.  If he made you male, be a male.  God does not make mistakes.  He made you that way for a reason.  I personally think these people need psychiatric counseling.  Why can't you accept yourself the way God made you?  Deal!!!

Actually, they deal with it and accept it wholeheartedly, but the society keeps bullying then for something that's not in their control.

It is in their control.  You can yield to temptation or resist it.
