Shouldn't the republican party listen to the voters about Donald Trump?
If people like failed pres candidate Romney attack Trump while he is winning the popular republican vote, then he and all the other republican attackers are throwing the election. If the republican party is willing to let the democrats win the presidency, then why can't they compromise with dems in congress, avoiding gridlock.
If I were a loyal republican party voter, I would have serious doubts about the worth of the republican party. Instead of telling the voters what their plans and solutions are for the many important issues for the country & people, they bicker like children
They should. I say that as no lover of the Donald.
Obstructing Democratic process is corrupt and pathetic, everything wrong with the system as a whole and more specifically with the Grand Old Party of today. There is too much business as usual and resistance to non-establishment candidates. There is too little win-motivated platforming, inclusive growth strategy, and party leadership reform. Not just candidates, the whole party specifically the leadership needs to shift to become more dynamic, more diverse, and more populist.
I agree, and both parties need to strive for at least a shade of purple.
Thanks
The Republican party lost with squishy McCain, Dole and Romney, instead of the strong conservative the base wanted. They only one with Bush 2, and half of that was name recognition.
This shows that the candidates the Republican party elite likes are LOSERS.
And that's why the party base needs to essentially ignore the party leadership, because it is not capable of winning - and Trump is. In fact, he's attracting the traditionally Democrat working class vote - black, white and Hispanic - focused on jobs lost to outsourcing and taken by illegal immigrants and visa holders. The Democrats ignore them because they want the new socialist leaning immigrants as voters, existing people be darned, and Republican leaders worship free trade and low cost labor so much they ignore the people hurt by it.
Then you get the ghetto-ization effect, where someone rides the bus and never hears English, and it is easy to feel like you're losing your country, your identity is demonized, wearing a flag shirt is racist - and the elites celebrate "diversity" while ignoring the crime, poverty and problems this causes. They feel good about it in theory, and they're ignoring the harm their policies cause - and that's why people are angry and Trump is getting their support across all races and party lines.
Then you get Democrats focused on ever more bizarre sexual freedoms, instead of real world problems like safety, jobs and the security net that so many are focused on. Let's argue transgender rights when 15% of the workforce has stopped working, shifted to early retirement or SSDI or given up.
I think the GOP leaders would rather see Hillary Clinton as president than Trump. Trump's #1 platform, as I understand it, is to restructure the American economy. Reading between the lines, he wants to bring manufacturing and factory employment back to the US by stopping sweat shop labor in Asia and Central America and by keeping the cheap exploited illegal "slave labor" out of the country. He's talking about investing in things like bullet trains and modernization. He wants to invest in infrastructure. These are things that the mainstream GOP and even Democrats don't really want or even understand.
It is time to get rid of both of the parties, and replace them with parties that represent the people, all of them or most of them.
In my view neither has helped pick the best person.

A recently heard speculation has ex-Rep. Cheney running for president in 2024—as an Independent candidate. The idea is to split the vote as Perot did.One prompt for that thought was the huge war chest she has and how little she spent on her reelection campaign. The reasoning is that she would be a...

The result of a self absorbed orange abomination perched in our oval office in an apparent paranoid state facing impending impeachment and the righteous hand of justice to finally be laid upon his wretched being: A rapidly shrinking republican party can’t possibly be a surprise to anyone who...
