A teen love of a white slave owner's daughter, fall in love a slave, is that a good romance movie?

A 15 years old rich plantation owner's daughter fall in love with a black slave, a sixteen years old black boy, that was kidnap by pro slavery African tribe to be sold to Americans as slaves, after the boy saved her life from a group of bandit trying to rob and rape her. When the white police, accuse him of murder and was to hang him, the girl plea for his life, telling what happened and got her dad to help her. Despite rewarding the boy, he still look down upon him and when he found out the hidden love story between her daughter and this black slave...his outraged father would test them

When it comes to movies these days the big categories are:
    1. Super hero
    2. Family/Animation
    3. Action/Buddy
    4. Comedy - (The racier the more profitable)
    5. Drama/suspense
    6. Horror
    7. Love/romance AKA "chick flick"
(Note: Romantic comedies tend to do better than serious ones)
Movies with a central story involving slavery rarely break even or seldom make a ton of money. Translation - Not many people pay to go see them. "12 Years A Slave" won an Oscar for "Best Picture" but only made $56M in the U.S.
    Other determining factors are:
Who is in it? Who directed it? Did it come from very popular source material such as a "bestselling book", "Broadway Musical", or well known news story?
If I'm being honest with you, in 2016 this story sound outdated and uninteresting. The advent of millions of interracial marriages today also dilutes the risqué or would be "shocking aspects" of the story. Any era prior to the 1970s may have generated some controversial buzz for the movie.

I think it could be good if it were done correctly.  It would have to have some unpredictable twist or something that nobody would be expecting, or it would seem generic.  If the dialogue is good and the director does a good job with the filming, and if the actors can really bring it, it might do well.  People like romantic comedies.

It be cool if we can reference real story in this arena, I am sure similar things must have happened in 19th century Southern US, plus, teen love are more blinded to social value (including racist ones) and people get married in their teens back then

If you want controversial today, a black man marrying a white woman without having blacks freak out about it would be more interesting.
