As a diabetic Type II the best home remedies are diet / nutrition and exercise. I know that probably is not what was sought, but in my experience had the best overall results. You might toss in reduce stress too since that affects maintaining those two systematically and consistently. From there you can add (Supplement), but usually all of them will always include diet and exercise in the mix. So, best begin with the basics.
This is not a home remedy but a self-reproducing environment's remedy. Okra, picked and eaten raw when tender will completely reverse diabetes. If old and in the early stages of drying one can cut off the ends and some them in water for 12 hours and drink the water until the okra is soft enough to chew then eat it.
That has been proven many times over to completely eliminate diabetes especially when accompanied by a few daily miles of fast pace walking.
Elijah, when you write something this dramatic and decisive .... Okra, picked and eaten raw when tender will completely reverse diabetes.... and you also write it has been "proven".... please provide references that can be checked.
Sandi, My proof is in people's doing it, not in something written. I have seen a writing saying soak Okra 12 hours but the people I know ate tender okra OFTEN and eliminated it. I've eaten it and many things raw since childhood & never had it.
Exercise and a healthy diet filled with whole grains, nuts, green leafy vegetables, and lean meats are definitely two major contributors to living well with diabetes. But, there are also some herbs and supplements you can add to your treatment plan (if your doctor gives you the OK).
Cinnamon, cloves, coffee, green tea, and bitter melon (among many others) may be able to help fight inflammation and reduce blood sugar levels. Magnesium is another one that is still being studied all the time, and researchers think a magnesium deficiency may play a role in blood sugar control and other diabetes complications.
