   NBC cancels top-rated AM show with black hosts to make room for white Megyn Kelly - racism or not?
   
   Tamron Hall & Al Roker co-hosted a top rated morning show called "Today's Take" on NBC - the network cancelled the show to create a slot for Megyn Kelly, who recently came to the network from Fox.  Ms. Hall was the first black female anchor the network had. The insult compelled Ms. Hall to resign and leave the network.  Why aren't there cries of racism being shouted out from the rooftops?

   Probably more about money than racism.  I heard on the radio today that Megyn Kelly will not even be allowed on the air until May or June due to a non-compete clause in her contract with Fox News.
   
   Most of these talking heads are in it for the money and will sell their souls to the highest bidder.

      I don't know Ralph, NBC is pretty darn liberal and the liberals don't usually attack their own kind.  Just imagine if it had been Fox that did that.

   It's not about racism; it's about money and ratings. The only other slot for Kelly belonged to Kathie Lee and Hoda. Everyone woman I know loves Kathie Lee and Hoda. No way they are those two ladies going anywhere; they have a strong following, and NBC still needs them. Hall shouldn't have resigned. That was awfully foolish of her.

      I agree - she shouldn't have left, although if I were in her shoes, I might have left too as it does feel like a major-league snub after having the success she's had

   Probably racist, and probably doomed to failure.
   
   Thing about Kelly is most people who watched Fox didn't like her, I know I didn't.  Didn't like her views, her arrogance when talking to 'guests' she didn't agree with, etc.   
   
   She is right where she belongs now, she will fit in with NBC/MSNBC programming.  Maybe that viewership will like her better.

      Savvy, why would they feel compelled to replace Hall's show with Kelly, unless there was some sort of racial undercurrent there?  The statement says it was a top rated morning show... why on earth would they want to mess with that... unless...

      Bottom line is that Hoda & Kathie Lee are more popular than Roker and Hall. Hard for men to understand just how much women love & follow the show. If they had gotten rid of Kathie Lee & Hoda, The Today Show would have tanked for sure.

      My confusion stems from why mess with either of them?  If both shows were doing good, find somewhere else to put her... make her the next Barbara Walters of 20/20 or 60 minutes.  Or something even more compelling, not killing off another show to do

      Oh, I see, Ken. Yes, the morning show thing seems kind of lame to me, as well, given that she had the Prime time slot on Fox. I don't really 'get it' either. After all, they're paying her a fortune.

      I think NBC saw it as a political triumph...The conservative Megyn Kelly. Frankly, I don't care that much for her either and it's not a gender or racial thing. I've worked in broadcasting. I understand.

   I don't like hearing about these "money" decisions the networks make, although of course from a business aspect, I understand.  Someone must be taken out and that is painful.  I love both Tamron & Al.....have watched the "Today Show" since forever.  I haven't had the time lately, so am not up on this story entirely.  I sure hope Al didn't leave NBC!  I doubt that he would.
   You know, honestly, I started out liking Megyn quite a bit.  My fondness began to wane during the campaign & continues since, due to her veiled comments & somewhat belligerent attitude.  What is it about media popularity & fame that changes people so drastically? 
   I wish both of the ladies well.  I'd like to tell Tamron that often a disappointment like this can be a blessing in disguise.  I don't doubt she'll bounce back & recover well.  She may get the job of a lifetime!

   You have to ask yourself why they hired black hosts in the first place. Was it because when Obama became president. The liberal social reengineering went into hypermode. Blacks and other minorities filled the TV screens and in the advertisements of TV, and print. They were included in more than the minority percentages, they inundated the TV shows. In addition, the story lines of these shows went pro liberal to immerse the rest of us into the liberal culture. It is not entertainment the way they did it, it was subliminal mind control.
   
   My point is that now that Obama is out of office, the fill the slots with minorities is no longer trendy. imo, comedies don't need to and shouldn't be giving moral lessons to the viewers. Neither should the News,
   
   Cable News is for sheeple not people imo.
   The solution is turn off cable news.You are not missing anything.
