I struggle with the same thing. Just write to the best of your ability, and find a good publisher. Your age will draw attention to your books, increasing the sales. Just look at The Outsiders. The author was a teenager when she published it.
Focus on creating a following of good people, and results will follow. Ask for their feedback, and you'll get better and better. They'll bring more people to you, and you'll grow because of it. Another thing, read a lot. You can pick up on others thoughts, and you can see what they do to be successful. I hope that helps. Best of luck!
The best advice I ever received about becoming a writer was: "Write! Write every day. Don't miss a single day for three weeks. That way it will become a habit." I was thirty-three. I'm now eighty-one and have written millions of words. These words became novels, works of non-fiction, short stories, essays, letters, poems, and even three film scripts...and I continue to write.
I'd be exaggerating to say I'm a successful writer in that great fame and money have not come my way. However, great satisfaction has. And, yes, I even won the odd award for Creative Writing. But back to your question.
I reiterate: Write! write! write! When it becomes a love you'll know you have succeeded whether you become 'successful' or not.
Like other commenters have said. Just right. Let your writing become habit. You'll begin to find that over time, your writing will improve just through doing so often.
Something you should do is expand your vocabulary. See a word you don't know? Look it up. Just believe in yourself, even if you don't get recognized right away, don't be discouraged, just keep writing.

Would you still want to become a writer if everyone told you to do something else?Imagine everyone being against you as wanting to be a writer. Would you still pursue it?

I am told that people write for different reasons. Here are the major reasons I figured out.1. They write because they enjoy it. In that case, if you are not writing for money, please write in your journal. Obviously, if you're writing for your personal enjoyment, then you don't need readers.2....

Does knowing that you are a successful writer make people respect you more?If you tell someone that you make a living writing online, will they respect you more than just for the money you make? What about if they actually read some of your work?
