    I am so out of the song loop . . . don't listen to pop music. According to this thread, it's probably a good thing.
    
    I am familiar with Macarana (sorry for bring that to mind again) when I was sub teaching in special ed. classes they always did it as an activity and the kids loved it. I didn't have to be there every day.
    
    One of my sons was a portrait artist in Disneyland and had to listen to "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirates's life for Me" all day long. I suppose it was only slightly less irritating than  working near the attraction that played "It's A Small World, After All", all day .

       Rochelle, You are so right!  I can't imagine listening to that song all day, day in and day out.  I worked with a surgeon who had It's a Small World, After All looped for about an hour.  I so hated when he wanted that one!

    Some Like It Hot by The Power Station.  At my first retail job out of high school my boss played the 80s radio station every single day for the three years I worked there, and for some reason this was one of their go-to 80s songs (which is a damn shame because I actually really like a lot of 80s music).  I heard it AT LEAST twice a shift, didn’t like it the first time and it just became increasingly terrible the following 1,500 times.

    Sometimes I listen to smooth jazz music on my television via Comcast. Although most of the music is relaxing, I do not ever want to hear another song by Sean Sullivan. Whenever I do, I grab the remote because all of his stuff is disgusting.

       @ PhoenixV -- I forget the title,  but the song by Marty Robbins where he sings a song about a cowboy getting shot by a posse and him trying to go find Rosa, a Mexican dancer in some catina. I counted five verses plus the chorus and when I heard it again, that wore me out.

    This topic has me energized. I live in Pittsburgh and our major health care provider is UPMC. Well, UPMC does a lot of advertising on television and has this horrible background music that I can’t stand. Whenever I see one of their ads, I grab the remote. Thank you for the remote.

    I work in a small office. The senior editor, for some reason, always puts cafe ambiance music on while we're working. Every day. The same 2-hour video, looping. There's this saxophone part that makes me want to drive forks into my ears.
    
    I really wish I could travel through time just so I could stop the man who invented the saxophone from inventing it and persuade him to pursue a career in studying ladybirds or something instead.
    
    I absolutely hate that YouTube cafe jazz, it makes my ears bleed, and having to listen to it for eight hours a day, five days a week, made me hate the saxophone, and indeed the senior editor, with an undying, burning passion.

    Kari, for the past several days Norman Brown’s “It Keeps Coming Back” has been playing in my head constantly. Great smooth jazz song. Simply the best. It sure beats Sean Sullivan, Santa Baby, UPMC’s supermarket waltz, and of course “Smiling Faces.”

          My husband loved that awful song, In the Year 2525. I once read a book, a screwball comedy by Carl Hiaasen. It was about a beginning rock band, who was paid to go on a cruise ship to the Int'l. waters off the coast of FL, so the passengers could gamble. When they had a terrible and rude group of people, In the Year 2525 was their "revenge song." They would keep playing it that night!

    El Paso starts with the lines "Out in the west Texas town of El Paso/ I fell in love with a Mexican girl," and rambles for about five minutes. While I have been accused of being able to carry a tune, I'm not sure how to demonstrate that on this website. However, YouTube has a huge juke box, so you should be able to find the sing the way Marty Robbins originally did it.

    I've got one... "Wild Thing." Does anyone in my generation remember when all the teen bands played that over and over? I'm no musician, but I assume it wasn't all that complicated to play. Anyway, some new commercial features a fragment of the song, which made me think of this thread.

          There are also hit versions of Wild Thing by Fancy and a novelty act called Senator Bobby, who gave a very Bostonian interpretation to it. In fact, the Wild Ones first recorded this song back in 1965.
