So I decided to undertake the hub challenge and write 30 hubs in 30 days.  After 14 hubs (and bronchitis) I realized that the hubs that took longer to create got better ratings, so I decided to stop the hub challenge.  I was getting a bit frustrated.  I had a decent amount of traffic coming to hubs but NO clicks, whatsoever!  I had made less than 10 cents in over 750 views.  I was thinking about giving up, but today I got some light.  I got some clicks!  Yay!  I won't post how many or how much I got, because that is against the ToS for adsense, but this gave me hope!  (For many of you this might seem trivial, but I was ready to quit when nobody clicked on anything for 2 weeks straight).

It does take time Pr0metheus but slowly it starts to build up. I'm glad you've shared this - it may give others some impetus to have patience and carry on writing smile

Patience is necessary, definitely dont allow yourself to get discouraged this early in. Its not a get rich quick scheme, but these income streams your creating even if its only cents a day, really ads up over the course of a year or two (and hopefully a lifetime)compared to the initial effort you put in

I mean, I knew it would take time.  I don't expect to get rich over night off of this, I saw it as just a way to generate some extra money.  Even iff I only end up making $100 a month in a year, it will be a welcome addition to my current revenue stream.  I just expected a better click to view ratio than 0/750 :-P.  Either way, I'm stoked!  That sort or re-lit my fire.

I sort of wrote about things that people probably search for, but there weren't a ton of results.  If you search 'Glove Light Show' on google, I'm the 8th link down!  (First page, woot on one of my first 15 hubs!) I'm going to keep looking for niches like that to fill.

Fight to make that top 3, your views/income should explode (if its a moneymaking topic, i dont know) ...first page is great, but do you actually scroll down that far?

You need to do yourself a bit of keyword research.

Oh I'm fighting!  The top 3 are video links, though so I don't know how well I'll do.  :-/

(I tend to scroll down for how tos, and open up like 6 links... but that's probably a unique approach)

In my google search, you are 11th - the very bottom ( are you perhaps signed into a google account when checking?)

But in your case, i would scroll that far down - past the videos and obvious store sites

You can beat them all, none of have any Page rank or decent backlinks, according to my little tool - you have a yahoo position of 3 for that term! and most of your google competition doesnt even make it first page on yahoo

Yea I'm signed into my google account - Didn't even think about that :-/.  I suppose I need to do some more backlink research and build more up...

It's quite amazing to see that once you start getting traffic outside of HubPages, you start to get clicks.  Keep driving the search engines to your hubs!
