    What is right?
    What is wrong?

    Is it subjective?
    Is it objective?

What can we AGREE on, as far as politics, to determine what is right and what is wrong?

For instance do you support the ban on plastic straws?
It seems that a ban on plastic straws is the right thing to do if we care about the harmful effects these have on the environment.
Some might think it is wrong to ban plastic straws because people make their livings marketing them.

Paper-made straws surely have less impact on the environment,

In my mind protecting the environment is the right thing to do,
but should protecting the environment take precedence in all cases?

Since "right" and "wrong" are judgments therefore they have no value because one must experience the various outcomes before determining the value of everything.

Subjective is defined by the parent of the word, subject, which is "the nomenclature of" it. The subjective of it is "it is what it is" by its definition and needs no further explaining.

Objective, also is defined by the parent word, object, suggesting it is a thing but produces the question "is its purpose in relation to the whole worth producing it."

"Policy" is the base of "politics". Supposedly the policy for the USA is the Constitution that everyone acts so pleased with but the "tics" is suggesting the governors are tampering with it and making policies "To The Contrary" which it say "Can Not Stand" by the term "not withstanding". Therefore determine what is "Objective" and we will see what benefits the whole of the United States of America.

Where we see that the "Governors" are supposed to be concerned about "the defense" of this nation it includes the self-reproducing environment as well as "We The People". That is why the constitution gave We The People, or the Governed, the control over the Governors. Therefore, what is needed is for the Governed to "educate" [bring forth from within by objectively reading it, apply it to the various activities of the Governors to see if it is being done then "Petition" or "Impeach" the governors according to your findings] themselves the do what the document intended from the foundation of this nation.

Therefore, when we see the consequences of plastics [all throwaway types] are harming the environment and then the production of them should be ended. The Constitution has "Defense and General Welfare" (Article 1, sec. 8 and Para. 1) as the most important concern for this nation. "Everything Else" is secondary to meeting those obligations. Take it from there and you find your answers concerning everything happening in this nation.

Right and wrong are concepts based upon up-bring and social factors.

Is torturing a person wrong if you know that you might save 500 persons?
Is it wrong to steal if you are hungry?
Is it right to electrocute a murderer?
Is it right to kill a cow and eat the meat?
Is is wrong to breastfeed in public?
      just to name a few.

Torture is wrong on earth or in hell It just doesn't work, people will tell you anything when tortured.

Yes, steal, if your overly hungry.

        Death penalty are hypocrite's.

Eating meat and cheese from cows is not healthy, yet you have the right to put anything you want into your body.

I breast feed in public, never been caught yet. Lol

I think it is very wrong to be flying a balloon of the POTUS dressed in a diaper in the form of a baby.

    That is WRONG!

Yet, there it is today flying above LA's Politicon event and available to take pictures with inside.

    https://ktla.com/2018/10/19/baby-trump- … on-center/

Right, You Brit, Simon Sidi, right. No. I don't believe it. The baby is demeaning to our president.
It was its purpose in London as now. To demand and mock. Why do we not shoot it down, is my question!!!

Today is a sad day, if you ask me ... which no one ...

              right and wrong.

Issues that require a particular perspective.
Like is the Left right to advocate socialism, no borders, gun control and abortion/selling of baby parts to the black market, legalized marijuana, stopping ANYthing that would mean a carbon footprint or the slightest harm to the environment, like saving teeny weeny fish in water ways of California?? Are they right to encourage the despotism of socialistic democracy where people pay higher taxes and individualism becomes less important? Is it right to stop the inflow of valuable oil for the sake of the land in N. Dakota when millions of jobs and less dependence on foreign oil will result.

These suggestions/demands are based on what some people see is right, but they care not for the bigger issues.

Conservatives see the bigger picture. The bigger picture has to do with preservation of the nation, protecting citizens from criminals entering the country illegally, the sanctity of life, the right to bare arms/defend themselves and form militias and utilize the environment to provide jobs and produce wealth.

But maybe they need to consider the smaller, more subtle picture.

Maybe what is right is somewhere in the middle. The right and left can check each other.

What is right is what is best for everything and everyone concerned.

Maybe we don't have to hate each other. Maybe we can listen to each other and incorporate ideas based on the big AND little picture.

We need to ignore the extreme LEFT and ignore the extreme RIGHT.

Probably the same ones conservatives have.

In the US, one such might be the abortion issue, where a reasonable compromise was reached...only to have both sides continue to chip away, trying to get the whole thing.

Another is the gun issue, where it is never enough.

Sadly, on those rare occasions when a compromise is reached it is never left alone.  Neither side finds it acceptable - just politically expedient in the moment with an unspoken declaration that "This isn't over until I get my way!"

Perhaps we have reached that point Wilderness ,  I know that with gun rights  it has ,  With the left in the sixties  all guns should be serial numbered ,  in the seventies , we must limit hand gun proliferation , in the eighties it became registries of owners , nineties  "assault rifles ",   2000 ?  magazine size .

We all watch as our combined liberties are chipped away one sentence , one right , one law , one state at a time .  AND guess what in the beginning as with today the same names mark the headlines , Feinstein , Cuomo , Brown , academia , add to that the new names  Harris , Sanders , Welch , Collins  .............Yes we have hit the wall of ideological divide and rightfully so ,  a large part of America is angry and should be .

    1. Castlepaloma profile image76
Castlepalomaposted 5 years agoin reply to this

Left or right means no hill of beans to me. Although the right loves their guns moreso. A good military general will tell you, anger is inefficient.

In New York Laws were worst than the punishments of 1665, to strike one's mother or father, or denying the "true God," were punishable by death. Hell of alot of angry there. Today, you strike your kid, you could get 3 years in prison. Still not right, yet alot better than killing them.

What good is the American Constitution if the founding fathers were not good example, by carrying out black salavery and non-white genocide.  At least their white wars were agree upon stupidity or honestly about self defense.

Approximately 60% of all adult firearm deaths are by suicide, 61% more than deaths by homicide. In the U.S., firearms remain the most common method of suicide, accounting for 51% of all suicides committed. If I get upset, it will be writing a letter, not going to get a gun.

If I lived in the early wild west and was a sheriff. I would disallow carrying a guns and public hangings. My murderer would have to work their tales off for tiny bits of freedom for life.

About 149 countries have abolished death penalties because it's hypocritical and proven it make s matters worst. Not US, they still live in the barbarian ages of wars and prisons. Still treat a cannabis plant as public enemy number one. They lock up Americans in cages over a plant more than any other reason. More people are killed in wars in the name of God for any other reasons.Sounds like never ending deadly angry, over really silly things.

Here are OBVIOUS tactics being used to tear down America and we do nothing!!!!!! but bicker and argue. We need to OBSERVE the tactics that have been used for decades and are snowballing:
1.) Pit one group against the other:
    A. The rich against the poor.
    B. The black against the white.
    C. The right against the left.
    D. The young against the old.
    E. Turn the sexes against each other!
2.) Take away autonomy and positive influence of public school teachers,
    A. Not training / encouraging public school teachers to teach with love, but rather strict conformity.
    B. Command school teachers to indoctrinate their future citizens with lies and slanted information. toward making the US look B A D.
    C. Obliterate ACCURATE history.
    3.) Obliterate Christian customs.
    A. Christmas is winter break.
    B Easter is spring break.
    C. Encourage immorality every way possible.
    D. Remove freedom of Religious Expression.
    4. tamper with currency systems:

A.A tactic used to deflate the joy of life of the youth: Not training or encouraging public school teachers to teach with love, but instead, strict conformity.

I witness that teachers use anger to keep students in line.
Anger should be reserved for times of need and urgency. Not all the time.
Gone are the days when teachers could be pleasant.
I try to be pleasant when I step in as a substitute. One Jr. high student thanked me after class for showing the class respect. I was so surprised by that comment.

That's a worldly version, as written on "the Georgia Stone", of the "ten virgin's parable" for those who survives civilization's end in Armageddon.
Which one do you expect to manifest, the world's by putting people in space to survive it or Armageddon that's being (if not already) built here on earth, for the spiritual 5% of earth's population who will repopulate earth once "the red sea" of blood is spilt by that 9.5% of the population? Ed,
Drugs, including those prescribed which most of are additive and causes other additions to satisfy Corporation's greed, get into our system because, in both cases, government was the prescriber of them and we are taught to trust our leader - look at the president in the above link - and teachers without reasoning. This nation doesn't allow educating but "schooling to blindly follow leaders even to our own demise like a school of fish" because we would know almost everything being done by the US government violates the constitution.

Having political parties is unconstitutional according to Article 1, section 2 & paragraph 2 and Art. 1, sec. 3 & par. 3 for congress and for presidents Amendments 12 and 24; not to count the preamble's "to form a more prefect Union" phrase.

Article 8 paragraph 1 require Congress to coin and value our money so why is a PRIVATELY OWNED BANK coining our money and the government borrowing it from then on the backs of We The People like we are chattel?

Since We The People are to correct government per Amendment 10 and Article 6 but are schooled to believe "We The People can't fight City Hall and win" so we will not even read the constitution to see that we are being lied to by then, the impeachable "high crime" offense of perjury for refusing to obey the constitution. So, then why do you expect the people-in-mass not to put drugs in our system? Education teaches self-discipline while schooling demands unreasoned obedience, so you tell me why so many people don't have self-discipline enough not to do it.

      KLH,
Schooling teaches people-in-mass to ignore that inner guide is why punishment and reward are the primary tool for schooling. We are talked down to for punishment and lifted up for reward and so many other variations of the same thing.

    "The Coming Of America

From Genesis through Revelation are prophetic types reveling of nations that reveal the actual history of the United States of America's that has been disunited because of money. Money's only value is for controlling people when we consider human, woman and man are also hairy animals [mobile beings] who lived as individual nomads as many other Mammals do. Pre civilization girls built ground nests for their babies, gathered their own consumables and returned to them as needed to nurse them. Once they learned to walk the children followed their mothers until adolescence when they went their own individual ways."

"The good of money is the use of money." Benjamin Franklin said that. It is a good and decent understanding.
