Guess since we were acquired by Maven they aren't doing these any more? Anyone hear anything?
It’s definitely overdue. I’ve been watching for it too. It does seem that it was discontinued since no one from staff mentioned anything about it.
I haven't heard anything at all since the last update in March, I think.
The annual hub awards.
Yeah, it's usually out by September, I just did some forum searching for last years announcement. Seems like they won't be doing it this year.
Those were good times in the HP community, real fun. I won once, can't remember what for, something about being friendly, I think.
Reading this, it sounds to me like there have been a lot of changes on Hub Pages since Maven came into the picture.
I am still convinced that hubbies are those guys that are married to wifies. HP and Maven have nothing to do with it.
I was wondering about these too. I figured they would have had them in September as well.
I vote Bev, the most patient with new hubbers.
God, no! I have no patience. Ask my kids.
I vote Fat Freddy's Cat for the naughtiest comments.
Brandon for his technical wisdom.
Glen and Alicia for being always polite and helpful.
Dr Mark for the best dog ear cleaning solution.
Who have I left out? I'll come back to it later. Great British Bake-off semi-final reaching its climax.
I hate cooking.
Anyway...
Natalie for asking questions and keeping on asking them till she gets an answer.
TT2 for hard work and persistence.
Tess for the best insults.
Alexadry for being a stellar hubber.
Someone else's turn now.
I never voted for many people in the Hubbies because I thought it was too difficult to choose the "best" in a category, especially when we had thousands of hubbers. I did vote for Bev as the most helpful hubber in the last two years, though, and would do it again if the Hubbies were held this year. Other people are very helpful in the forum as well, but I think Bev makes an extra effort to help people improve their articles.
I would vote for Bill Holland as the most helpful for his Monday Morning Mailbags in which he answers a Q and A about writing and publishing. He has written about 227 of them.
The newsletter says there are hubbie awards this year after all https://blog.hubpages.com/2018/10/28/vo … ie-awards/ Maybe this post reminded the team about it lol.
@lobobrandon Nice!! Glad to see they are still doing these this year.
Yay! We are having the Hubbie awards again this year! It looks like they revamped the categories too, in a good way.
Shasta!! Long time no see. How have you been?
Glad to see that they are still doing it. I had my list of who to vote for that I've been adding to all year in preparation for this.
I tried voting but it wouldn’t let me access the poll/form to submit my votes. Maybe it’s just my computer
Not an issue on your end. It was blocked. I wrote to Samantha to look into it and they fixed it.
Good to see them on again, but disappointed in some of the categories. It really seems as though the staff treat them as a bit of a joke. There used to be a lot more categories and we could vote for people who we found to be good writers in those given niches. Now we have an actual award for "most likely to be banned"....really, give that person a prize? Also "biggest grammar snob"...I know the person who won that last year wasn't impressed about winning for that. "Loudest voice in forums" ... again not a good one (most helpful in forums would be fine).
In the past, we had to put links on the Hubbie form and not just write in the person's name or article title. Is this still the case? There was no direction in the rules, so I put in links for everything. Will it be accepted?
For hubbers the name and for best hubs, etc the URL. I think they would sort it on the spreadsheet if it's many votes and a link would get buried and not be counted, it's difficult to go through all entries manually. If it's a few votes they'd probably notice it though.

It seems that unless you are upper middle class or wealthy you can't afford proper health care. It just doesn't seem fair. I am happy so far that I have been healthy, but just a simple cold or flu to get penecilin you have to pay a Dr. almost $200.00 just to get a prescription. I am very thankful...

I'm sure there will be an official announcement about this, but I just noticed one of my maths articles was professionally reviewed. This is great news. Let's hope it adds authority to articles and keeps Google happy.

All my comments are being "unapproved" when I know for a fact that these hubbers never had set it to "approve before being visible" just a couple of hours back. It happened for the last 4 comments and hence it can't be a coincidence that all have suddenly changed their...
