High school girl speaks out on schools allowing boys in girls' sports

Two boys in Connecticut have declared themselves girls and school officials are allowing them to compete as girls in high school track. At the state championship track meet, the boys came in first and second in the 100 meter, with a new "girls" state record set. Yes, girls' state records are being knocked out and replaced with times run by boys.

Some parents complained and a petition was circulated, but so far objections have been ignored by Connecticut's public school state athletic board. Most girls competing in Connecticut high school track have kept quiet; at least one coach warned his team not to complain or object or they would sit out.

One girl athlete, Selena Soule, is speaking out on this situation and the Equality Act in general, which if passed will allow any biological male to self-identify as a female, giving him lawful access to women's sports teams, women's showers and locker rooms, women's rape crisis centers, homeless shelters, scholarships, jobs earmarked for women, etc.

Soule did not qualify for the state championship meet, but would have if the two boys' qualifying times had not been included.

So glad these issues, as disgusting as they are, are being discussed. What did people think was going to happen when Pandora's box was opened? We the people have let this happen by voting in politicians who would support this sort of thing, or allowing them to be voted in by not voting for opposition.

Questions about what happens if a girl is given a test for drugs and is found to have testosterone in her system come up. Is she booted for drugging to win? But such questions pale in comparison to other problems involved with this issue, as already proven in this discussion.

Normally, a female who is using testosterone would be ruled ineligible due to cheating with performance-enhancing drugs. Yet these boys, who  at age 17-18 have an average testosterone level of 300-1,200 ng/dl, are somehow NOT considered cheating when they compete against 17-18 year old girls, whose normal testosterone levels average only in the 20-75 ng/dl range -- just a tiny fraction of a male's.

It is just outrageous how this is happening and people are cheering the boys on. It's just so degrading and humiliating for the girls.

As far as the video you linked to, what is being done to kids who do not conform to outdated sex stereotypes is criminal. Boys are being medicated and operated on if they prefer dolls and pink over trucks and blue. Same for girls who like sports and motorcycles instead of makeup and dresses.

This doctor wants kids to be able to undergo genital surgery before they reach age 18 (this is already happening, anyway). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L240CPOJ6FM

This doctor says girl babies who yank barrettes out of their hair are trying to tell their parents they are really transgender boys. Babies! https://vimeo.com/185149379

This doctor says all the girls who are undergoing elective double mastectomy (to appear male) at age 13, 14, 15, and 16 are fine to make these decisions and compares consenting to such a surgery to a teen deciding which college they want to go to. She says if a few years down the road the girl comes to regret having her breasts surgically removed, it's no problem because she can just find a plastic surgeon and "go get some" new breasts via breast reconstruction.

Criminal is the correct word for the abuse children are being subjected to in these situations. One wonders why doctors are getting by with this kind of thing, why the criminal justice system has no power to stop it.

It would be interesting to discuss the solution of using a plastic surgeon to replace breasts taken from a child with a breast cancer survivor who's had replacement surgery.

Children's brains are not fully formed before early 20s, yet so-called doctors insist they can make decisions to have deforming surgeries based on social pressures. It's insanity, it is not practicing medicine.

It's about time women started standing up and speaking out. It's despicable that we've come to this. Transsexuals who do not understand the problem and are pushing women into this position are being selfish.

If the Equalities Act is passed, speaking out won't help. It will put into law that we must extend all women's rights and protections to any male who says he is a woman or a girl.

This ridiculous situation,to me, is more indicative of a condition of toxic masculinity than anything the left claims defines the word.

No one gives a rat's behind if a guy wants to dress as a woman, present as a woman in public, and be treated as a woman during social interaction and vice versa. But, I am tired of the left ignoring science in order to believe it's ok for a guy to take away a young girl's dreams, kill their competitive spirit and expose them to biological differences just for the sake of individuals who may just be taking advantage of the ignorance of the left, for personal desires.

She will probably just get a lot of hate mail from people telling her she is homophobic, which is ridiculous.
If sex really did not matter, there would be FtoM athletes competing against boys. It does not happen.
This really is one of those situations where "there ought to be a law".

Yep, it is considered hateful when women and girls don't move over for these males. This girl is being called a bigot. These boys who are--let's face it--cheating, are being celebrated. They have even been named "courage award" winners by a Connecticut sports journalism organization. They were also interviewed on national TV by Michael Strahan, and they basically said that the reason they're winning is because the "other girls" just aren't trying hard enough.

There are apparently several states that force this to happen.  In some of them, however, hormone treatment is required for at least one year before a boy can compete as a girl.

This may be a reasonable path to follow, as the increased musculature and physical abilities are tightly tied to hormones.  Give the child female hormones and the competition is far more equal, but without it males, in general, will always outperform girls in sports requiring a high degree of physicality.

Lowering testosterone levels does not equalize the physical differences between males and females. It is a start and it's better than nothing (I guess), but there's really no way to put males and females on an equal footing in sports.

Well, I don't really know how much hormone therapy would change the body.  I presume, from the article I read, that the muscle mass will decrease, but certainly the bone structure will not.  And if a concerted effort is made to restore muscle, I'm not sure at all that it wouldn't work.

I just mention because I did read a sympathetic article and that was mentioned as a partial solution.  I made sense, but I'm not sure at all how far it goes.

I remember when this whole transexual mania hit. You know how it goes with these 'social justice' freaks, all the real battles have been fought, so now they're fighting for the tiniest minorities, like transexuals. Vegans are fighting for the rights of chickens. It's all as stupid as could possibly be.

Bruce Springsteen crawled out of his cave and wanted everyone to boycott states that wouldn't let men into the women's restrooms. This world is stupid. Or maybe the people who own mass media and push this degeneracy on the dumber persons are just evil.

    Why not both. Yeah both.

Oh but hey, I'm a straight white male. I'm the real threat. *snort* And so you see, I can never support anything 'the left' will push in this lifetime, or the next.

It is well known that I rarely ally with conservatives on ANything.

But this transgender stuff is still beyond the pale for me.
Let's keep this simple, the anatomical "equipment" you were born with determines your gender.

Face it folks, this is just "nasty" squared.

It is ridiculous to have males competing on an equal basis in athletic competition with females in sports that require greater strength and endurance.

But, perhaps, that assumption is "out of style"

While the genders are equal, they are still different, and that diff fence has to be accommodated for sometimes.

For, instance, why do women regardless of where you find yourself on Earth, always have a great r life expectancy than men?

Yes, supposedly it is hateful for women not to want to shower in front of a man at the gym. It is hateful to admit that men and women are biologically different. And laws are not on the side of women and biology.

There's a guy in Canada who has a sick fetish involving young girls and feminine hygiene products. He has written online of his perverted fantasies involving helping young girls by teaching them how to use feminine hygiene products, but unfortunately he has never been arrested for any reason or convicted of any crime. He suddenly declared himself to be a woman and now he has every legal right to enter women's restrooms. He has posted selfies taken inside women's restrooms, a couple of them even have young girls in the background.

This man is also using his new legal status as a woman to call waxing salons, and independent waxing aestheticians who work out of their homes, attempting to schedule Brazilian waxing, in which the end result is to be completely hairless in the "bikini area." Typically the woman taking the call can tell by his voice that he is male. If the woman says she cannot or as a rule does not wax male genitalia, he files a human rights violation/discrimination complaint against them. So far, he has filed 16 cases -- 16 women (so far) who are being taken to court for not wanting to handle this man's genitalia (many who point out they do not have the proper training to safely complete this procedure), and now they are forced to hire attorneys and go through months of expense, hassle and red tape because of laws which just invite this kind of abuse.

We're at least all smarter than the British. I think? Or less degenerate. Or maybe our North American governments don't hate us all as much as the government hates its citizens in the United Kingdom where, you can be a dude, claim to be a woman, and get to go to the women's penitentiary, so you can.....rape actual women.

The "Karen White" case in the UK is an especially egregious one. Unfortunately, males are placed in female prisons in the USA also, and recently it has been happening more and more.

            Just one: https://www.apnews.com/0054459b12b54b48abfe45937efa1225
The article above states that Hampton was moved to a female prison, but leaves out what another article (linked below) reported: "guards testified that Hampton acts in both a physically aggressive and sexually suggestive manner toward them as well as inmates." Doesn't sound like someone who should be locked up with women who have nowhere to run or hide.
            http://www.news-gazette.com/opinion/col … enges.html

In Texas, some incarcerated women sued after they were forced to shower and undress in front of transgender male inmates who were housed with them in a women's federal prison. “These men openly express their sexual desire for the women inmates, at times, in the showers, and bathrooms, while women are naked or partially clothed."

            and

“The men expose themselves, intentionally, for their own sexual gratification, causing the Plaintiffs to suffer disgust, embarrassment, humiliation, stress, degradation, fear and loss of dignity.”

I have been a lifelong lefty but this issue is pushing me away from the left. I consider myself politically homeless now.

I used to be an ally to the transgender community, but once I realized that placing "gender identity" above or equal to biological sex within the law harms women's rights, I just couldn't be on board with it any more. I really don't care if men wear dresses and women have buzz cuts, but when I hear of female domestic violence victims being told to leave a women's shelter because they are upset at the idea of sharing the showers with man, and of course the sports examples, I can no longer be on board.

Life expectancy - part of that seems to be genetic and hormonal.  But a large part is because males have a big tendency to do stupid things in search of that adrenaline rush, and it has a definite effect on life span.  So does smoking, drug usage and other health destroying activities, which males participate in more than females.

And finally, the choice of employment matters a good deal as well.  Not only do men hold far more jobs in the "dangerous" category, but they also hold more in the "hazardous to your health" category as well.
