HHS workers were sent to inspect quarantined Coronavirus victims without protective clothing or respiratory safeguards. They then dispersed to various parts of the country after being exposed to the virus.

I mean damn....is this what we expect from the powers that be?

I don't want to get into conspiracy but are they trying to spread the virus? At least now we have Pence in charge. Single prayer > single payer roll

Pence cannot make a move without Donnie's permission. It's the same as Trump being in charge. "I know more than the scientists, believe me!"  tongue

That's for sure. Of course we need to continue with the anti-science, anti-intellectual deference to Trump's ego. I think Steve Schmidt said it well:

"There have been occasions, as George Will points out, where speaking on Trump, in front of Trump, where he compliments him on an average of 3.2 seconds. We have never seen such slobbering servility by a high government official in this country than we do in Mike Pence and Donald Trump. It is amazing.”

“He’s supposed to be serving the American people. He’s the vice-president of the United States, and he acts like he’s the house butler at Mar-a-Lago.”

Pence is the ass-kisser-in-chief. It's the only reason Trump hasn't thrown him under the bus along with the others.

Also true! Jimmy Kimmel cracked a pretty good line about Pence being worried the coronavirus could be spread by ass-kissing big_smile

Damn Eastward, that was a pretty damning thought.

I am not sure how to deal with my agreement with it.

I remember that much publicized Cabinet meeting where they went around the table thanking Trump for the opportunity to serve him and the greatness of his presidency. If I had been on a plane I would have been reaching for the vomit bag.

But still, I feel guilty beating-up on Pence, bless his soul. He has the second worse job in the world.

Schmidt didn't mince any words in that rebuke. Haha. Pence will be etched in my mind as Jeeves from this day forward.

Are you implying that Melania has the #1 worst job in the world?

Did you see all the budget cuts to the CDC and health agencies? They don't have the funding to protect health workers in these crises. If I were one of them, I'd probably walk out. When CNN ran the story, they did try to soften the blow by saying that the budget cuts were "bipartisan" in Congress. I tried looking them up and don't find any statistics on that. I've noticed that CNN is starting to sound more like Fox every day, and I wish Gloria Borger would go to work for Fox, as her Trumpism is showing.

Consider the government as thousands of miles of beachfront. Sandcastles for everyone.

Is the next post going to claim this is Trump's fault?

Haven't you been around long enough to realize NOTHING is Trump's fault, Gus? It's Obama and Hillary's fault. Obamacare caused this virus, we all know that.

But, but, but...if it isn't Trump's fault then the stock crash isn't either!  It has to be Trumps fault so we can blame him for the economic slowdown and the loss of IRA funds in the market!

Not me, I never gave him credit for the stock market or economy to begin with. A Democratic POTUS always has to come in and clean up after a Republican POTUS screws up a good thing, Dan. You know that!

Hey, did you see Trump calling it a hoax perpetuated by the Democrats and his followers at a rally cheering him for it? I can't even comment on this stupidity. It speaks for itself:

        https://slate.com/news-and-politics/202 … -hoax.html

This one is headlined "Trump rallies his base to treat virus as a "hoax".

It's very suspicious the new cases of the virus are all within a few hundred miles--or even closer--to where the unprotected HHS workers met with those who were suspected of having the virus coming from China.
