   Here's what the Trump campaign is telling its supporters:
   
   "Here is what America gets if Joe Biden is President of the United States:
   
   Elizabeth Warren will be Biden's pick for Secretary of the Treasury... you can kiss your retirement savings goodbye.
   
   It will be Bernie Sanders for Secretary of Health and Human Services to complete the government takeover of healthcare.
   
   For Secretary of Energy, it will be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez... and she will not stop until she has enacted the economy-destroying "Green New Deal".
   
   It's got to be Beto O'Rourke for Attorney General to implement gun control.
   
   Probably Adam Schiff for Secretary of Homeland Security.
   
   It is a nightmare scenario that puts the Far-Left elite in charge of the federal government, and it would be disastrous to our quest to Make America Great Again.
   
   Socialism would replace capitalism.
   
   The American Dream would die. From his first day in office, Joe Biden would declare war on small business owners, farmers, and oil, gas, and coal producers. Our economy would wither to nothing. Our gutted military would be a paper tiger that China, Russia, and Iran neither fear nor respect.
   
   Imagine what a Biden presidency would be like, imagine the worse. He would destroy everything that makes American exceptional.
   
   Americans deserve better than Joe Biden. He is a nearly 50-year creature of the Washington Swamp, as liberal as they come, and as power-mad as they get."
   
   So there you go: fear, fear, fear!

         What's sad is that the Trump campaign thinks that's what works on his supporters or that it actually does work.

            My opinion is that most of those predicted picks will strike a chord with a lot of folks. There must be a lot of us morons out there.
            
            Which picks do you think are so completely unreasonable that they do amount to the claim of fear-mongering?

                  I took the "picks" as the whole thing. Of course, it was "fear-mongering," but so are a lot of Biden's statements about Trump. So what? That's politics. I don't think you will disagree with the thought that both sides do it, so there is no need to go hunt, (that was "hunt," not Hunter ;-0), for similar Biden statements to his supporters.
                  
                  So, with that thought in mind, to me, the picks were the point to address, and I got a chuckle out of it. AOC for Energy Secretary? Come on, ya gotta know how that would sit with many folks. Including some non-Trump supporters. (even Biden has distanced himself from her plans)

                  I agree with that, but I was thinking about what names for what picks didn't have an association with the position—exactly like your two mentioned examples.
                  
                  As I noted to PrettyPanther, I got a chuckle out of the name associations, I think they were brilliant choices for the purpose of the message.

                     I actually was about to agree with you that both sides do it and went to my email to find a similarly ridiculous email to share but was pleasantly surprised. I never read these emails. When I feel like donating I just open one up and scroll directly to the "donate" link. Anyway, I just read through four of them and the closest I could find to fear mongering was "Look! Trump raised massive amounts of money after the last debate!"

                           Naw, I'm not really arguing, but (here I go again), conservatives have been shown to have a greater fear response than liberals. You know, the people who write these emails are experts in their field. They know what will trigger their particular readers to respond. I think that's why crank and I find that email he shared to be so laughable while you can find plausibility.

         Surprisingly, this topic is turning into an interesting one, so let me 'splain' American politics to you. (of course, I am being factitious, but allow me to offer my perspective.
         
         First, fear-mongering is a standard campaign tactic for most candidates. Biden is also doing it with many of his statements about what would happen with another 4 years of Trump. The only difference is that in typical Trump fashion, he went over-the-top to the point that only his most rabid supporters would believe it.
         
         However, with the purpose of the message in mind—sow fear about what the opponent would do if elected, I think the composition was brilliant.
         
         Look at the office pairing:
         
         Beto O'Rourke is mostly known for his public claim that, yes, he will take your guns away. (he really said AR-15s, but that was twisted into guns) -- imagine a 2nd Amendment supporter's thoughts about that Biden selection.
         
         I think only one more name needs to be mentioned to carry my point: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I bet that the majority of the public only thinks of two things when they hear, "AOC"; The Green New Deal, and The Squad. I hope you can see the intended message in pairing her name with Secretary of Energy, as I think most folks would see it. Most politicians, including Biden, have distanced themselves from her promoted and published plan.
         
         The rest of the name picks have similar associations in the public's mind. The list made me smile.

            it's sad to see what has become of the presidential elections. Parties are more busy with painting the other candidate black then telling the public what they want to do the next 4 years.
            I guess, fear sells. It's an old trick and used all over the world.  I mistrust parties who use this trick though.
            The whole gun politics is beyond me. Less weapons, less killings, very simple to me. But I've not grown up with this thing.
            Yes the list made me smile too. But I bet there are a lot of people who believe it. Just like people believed that Hillary Clinton ran a paedophile network. It's saddens me to see that the truth is not important. The opposite, blatant lies are used to fool people in believing crazy things. It's not new, but in a open society like the west, news agencies should do fact checking. But a lot don't give a damn, they want to sell the news, not the truth. As a lie that makes a $1000 is more important then a truth that makes $1.

   Honestly, both sides are fear mongering. Not to mention the media. It's ridiculous. It would be nice if both sides could debate without ridicule and bashing. I support Trump over Biden because both have faults, but I believe that his policies are business oriented and when America is wealthier and stronger, so are the people. I feel that Biden is just a career politician and will follow whatever other people tell him. I don't always agree with Trump, but he's pretty damn straight forward in his speaking. For better or worse. Both are guilty of lying. Both are guilty of nearly all the things that each side say the other is guilty of. There are a lot of hard issues to be dealt with in our modern society. Foreign roles have to be seriously considered on all sides. In the end, I don't want anyone paying more in taxes. I don't want foreign countries to gain unfair trade advantages. I think our borders have to be watched more closely than ever to keep our country safe. Threats come in many forms. I think the virus has taught us that. Ultimately, a politician is in it for themselves. I don't care what they say. When they finally decide to discard all the fat benefits and programs that they have created for themselves, maybe I'll really believe one of them. In the end, we are a country for the people and by the people. No matter who is president, they don't rule the country. For now, it is still a democracy. Let's all move as we feel and treat each other with respect. Lets handle our problems as adults and teach the next generation to do the same. We make the difference, at home and in our communities.
