Lies Perpetuated by Trump Supporters

I've noticed two lies being used in arguments by Trump supporters to malign Joe Biden and President Obama and just generally used to support their positions. These arguments are widely held.

    1. That Joe Biden played golf with the head of Burma, a Ukranian.

This lie is completely debunked here:

    https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-mete … olf-ukrai/

President Trump himself has been pushing this and I've seen the argument used in these forums with explanations similar to: "how can Biden claim he didn't know anything about the Ukraine when he was playing golf..."

    2. The second lie has to do with Obama pulling out of Iraq. I've seen this used over and over to create an equivalence between Obama pulling out of Iraq as though he backstabbed the Iraqis and Trump betraying the Kurds. Here's information on the Status of Forces agreement:

    https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-mete … -troops-i/

Why are these lies continually used by Trump supporters?

I suppose those who knowingly voted for a compulsive liar and continue to support him no matter what he says or does don't care about the truth.

I don't really care about what Obama did, he is not a Presidential hopeful.

Biden on the other hand, all his corrupt antics need to be exposed, from using his son to funnel hundreds of millions of dollars via his dealings with Ukraine and China, to his $900,000 fee from Burisma.

Second, nothing they are charging Trump can be considered valid at this time.  All we have are unnamed "sources" and "whistle-blowers".  Worthless.  When they come forward, are cross examined, have their background investigated, then maybe what they have to say may have some merit.  Until then, they are card carrying American hating communists for all I know.

Democrats in the House are attempting to investigate anyone who knows the President or has spoken to him, without giving proper evidence or proof of wrongdoing, without allowing Trump due process, not allowing him to cross examine, not allowing him to see evidence, this is a soft coup, it really is.

Deflection. The forum is about two specific lies pushed by Trump supporters. Everything else in your response is unrelated to that question.

And the whistleblower complaint appears to be exactly what the whistleblower said it was - Trump asking a foreign power to interfere with our elections.

The irony is that it really does seem like Trump, through his actions, hates America. He seems to want to destroy everything it stands for. Truth, liberty, the American way and all that.

What does any of that have to do with the OP or my response to it?

Nothing, because his supporters are going to come back with more lies, smoke screens and deflections because they don't have definite defenses.

Even after I've pointed out the lie, several still continue to use them. It's pretty amazing.

I'm not amazed at their continuing to perpetuate his lies......that emotion ended long ago. Now it's simply bafflement.

I'm not even baffled anymore, just disgusted. They're lost. Gone. Not worth engaging with on pretty much any subject relevant to Trump.

I can't get over how some of them use things to their own ends. My own cousin, a Trump supporter with a college degree, recently posted on Facebook a photo of a couple of terrified Muslim women who roused her sympathies. But she never equated them with the pullout of our troops from Syria, which the photo was all about. I don't get it.

I've never heard the second claim but the only coverage I've seen of that photo clearly states it is hunter and a person with his company who was also a board member. I've never heard anyone claim he was a boss of Barisma.

I would like to add. I'd never start a thread about it but the lies democrats tell themselves are more appalling, to me. Possible corruption is ok and should not be investigated, as long as a Democrat is doing it. Lying is to be ignored. As long as a Democrat is doing it. Foul language is acceptable, as long as a Democrat is doing it.

I just can't quite get the outrage over Trump and the blindfold for everyone else.

That means you haven't put ideals like Socialism, Marxism, Sharia Law, etc. at the forefront of the changes you want to see for America.  For if you were pursuing such changes, then any lie, any falsehood, and any amount of corruption would be acceptable so long as it moved you toward one of those ultimate goals.

Because if you were a loyalist, a fanatic, for a cause or a political ideal, anything becomes acceptable.  If Joe Biden is a pedophile, its ok, so long as it can't be proven.  If Joe Biden has funneled hundreds of millions to himself and his family through abusing his position as VP, its OK, so long as no one charges and convicts him of criminal wrongdoing.

Hillary Clinton isn't guilty of any crime, despite deleting 32,000 emails, destroying hard-drives, taking in hundreds of millions through the Clinton Foundation, because no-one found her guilty of a crime... the Director of the FBI himself cleared her of all wrongdoing, it wasn't his place to do so, but Loretta Lynch sure as heck wasn't go after her, nor would anyone else in the Obama Administration, she was going to be found innocent of all wrongdoing because it was her click running the show in D.C.

If you see some common sense to what I have typed, it means you are not an easily duped American, nor a political extremist.  It makes you someone who can be objective and who questions BS when you see it.

To some, that makes you a Trump supporter, a white-supremacist, and a right-winger by default... even if you are none of those things.

Socialism, Marxism, Sharia Law - sure. And the next Democratic candidate for President will be the Boogeyman.

The Sharia Law thing is the best. I'm surprised you can even sleep at night.

See, exactly, this has nothing to do with the question about Trump's lies. More smokescreens, deflections, and Russian propaganda. Total twists on what reasonable people know as the truth. Greta has nothing to do with Trump's lies, Mueller ran a legitimate investigation while Trump cried "witch hunt", I could go on, but why bother.

I think the point you may be missing is the idea of fair play, even handed treatment from one person to the other?

Trump is a twit. No doubt. But people appear to cry wolf and then look at another wolf and coo puppy.  Trump is a bully. For sure. But people scream he's a bully and support other bullies.

It isn't smoke screens or deflection. I think, if we all want honesty we need to first be honest.

OK, so you really are saying we should jail or execute two people who are following a Constiutional process.

You might put those words in my mouth (or keyboard), but they certainly are not anything I mentioned.

Read carefully; the ONLY mention was of an "investigation", not jail or execution.  But, out of curiosity, does the Constitution include barring house members not of the "right" party from participating in the investigation that is supposedly about Trump's contact with the Ukrainian president?  (I say supposedly because the last one was supposedly about Trump's collusion with Russia, but diverged into any non-Democrat that they could find anything on.  While ignoring Democrats that colluded with Russia in obtaining what turned out to be false information about Trump's collusion.)

Once again you are twisting the debate into something that has nothing to do with the original topic.

As we have all asked many times before, please try to stay on topic and quit inventing things we have never said.

It wasn't me that decided that I was in favor of jailing Pelosi.  It was you.  You might want, then, to stay on topic yourself.

I'm fully in favor...after they have been tried and found guilty.  You, on the other hand, would be happy to jail Trump without that small detail.  Right?

              Ah, now you backtrack. Finally.

What does Trump have to do with the original post about traitorous liberals?

Again, as so many of us have asked so many times before, please keep changing the subject and inventing things we didn't say.

              Why is that so hard?
