If we are talking US dollars, I think I can afford to buy a carton of milk and loaf of bread with it smile

Wow, the US dollar is really strong here right now. I could probably afford to buy everything on the shelf for that much money.

Give it to a no-kill animal shelter.

Give half to a group working with children in Kenya and I would order some take out meals for my daughter and daughter-in-law who live across the country so they could have a couple of leisurely nights at home during the holidays.

I lost my left hearing aid and believe it is affecting my health. It is very expensive, and I need the money for it. Six years ago, it was $1700, but now the replacement is
$2400. The aids improved my life so much, that I believe it is worth the money. I sure would be glad if it was cheaper, as I have to pay it out.

A thousand dollars would go along away to getting rid of some debt...so I am paying off some debts and that's just to start on the road to being financially stable again....

I'll book as many air tickets as possible and book as many hotel rooms at the most exotic places. But make sure someone gives me that, don't make me frown with hopes and despairs.

Holy crap! Where do you live where lettuce is $2.69!?!?!? It's $1.19 here, at most $1.59 depending on what kind you want.

My husband's company usually gets a bonus of about that much at Christmas time. We are unsure if he will get it this year but have planned already what the money will go on.
$119 on a 32 inch tv for my boys' room.
$100 refurbished Xbox for their room (they have one in the living room, but my husband and I like to play it).
$250 will go to a tax sale property that is listed down the street from me. (This will turn into profit because if the owners end up paying the taxes in the year after they have to pay me interest on the money, and if they don't pay it off within one year the property becomes mine.)
$125 new carpet for my living room
The rest would go on Christmas presents for the family.

Not much money in this day and age.  I would probably apply it to bills.

Probably replace some worn-out clothing, buy new blades for the lawn tractor, get a tune-up for the car...deferred maintenance stuff like that....that we normally have to do without.

    $600 in bills/credit card

It would be tempting to use it all and pay bills, but would probably use it for marketing purposes and donate 10-20% to charity.

I would give $500 to a charity that feeds the homeless, $230 to my son (he's a good son), $230 to my daughter (she's a good daughter), and with the last $40 I would go see the new Star Wars movie, then go to dinner, and after that I would spend the last dollar on the lottery because if I am lucky enough to get $1000 for free, maybe it time for me to play the lottery ... after all, I would be feeling lucky!

I would give the entire amount to charity and not keep one penny for self. HowevervI would like to ensure  that money goes in right hands and is not frittered away
