Hummm... the first thing would be a major grocery shopping trip that could easily top out at 300+, then would pay a bunch of small bills (magazine subscriptions etc) that add up and then finally if there is anything left over maybe dinner and a movie with the spouse.
A lesson we learned that no matter how bad things are financially a little treat for yourself doesn't hurt. Admittedly it may be nothing more than a DVD of a movie you want, but it makes it easier to go to work when you know the money you earn isnt just to pay bills. A couple hours watching a movie for pleasure is a great way to destress.
Warm, for the winter. I need new jeans. I'm not a dressy kind of girl I would like something new and dressy for the Christmas season though. This year I'm saving up to move in the Spring some most of my money is going to that. However, it didn't stop me from buying a pair of Ugg boots. The main thing you need here is winter boots
You would use your aircard for your laptop? What is an aircard?
Is cali standing for California? And would it take 3-4 days to get across the country?
You can sure get a tan out here in California.
Let's talk about where you would stay when you get here. For 30 days you could stay for $499, in a great home in a gated community with flowers in bloom year-round, with nice comraderie shared with two high school and college teachers.
For the daughter - a Wii For the wife - some jewelry (it's been a while since i've gotten her any) For me - save any remaining for Lost Season 5 Dharma Invitiative Deluxe Edition (total waste of money but I gotta get it)
I hate to say it but I'd bank it until I could figure a way to use it wisely. Im kinda at a crossroads with this though because I have learned that money is meant to be spent...maybe that's why I have none.
Depends on the situation, if my hubby had a job, I would donate the money to our local food shelf. Since he doesn't have a job, it would be used to buy a new water softener (ours broke last week) and the rest put away for college books for my daughter next semester.
Yeah, I'd love to have someone build me a website too, but that money needs to come from my own income Pam, you'll get there, you are an amazing writer.
OK - I would go shopping for jeans with Uninvited Writer since that's on my to-do list anyway (the jeans shopping part lol). Practical, I know. Maybe I'd go to Pier One or Cost Plus and just blow the rest.
OK, pardon my ignorance, we have Playstation 3 with Tomb Raider (Angelina Jolie) and xBOX with Rock Band..I love it, and CSI, so fun! And we have handhelds for the kids but the parents aren't allowed to touch them!
The first 100 is not mine so I would take care of that. My wife wants a new kitchen table, one thats square and has those tall barstool like chairs. Before you think me a saint she just bought me a new oversized leather recliner.
I would invest it in something that would triple my money, then triple that investment, then triple that investment, etc. until I have enough to change the world (which could take a lifetime) but I of course can set unrealistic goals to make it easier to accomplish the realistic ones. It's always nice to have something to work towards and accomplish it. Thanks for picking at my mind.
Give 500 to my little brother so he can have a nice x-mas this year. 100 to my boyfriend's little sister so she can buy some new toys. 100 to my mom. 100 to my Abuela. 100 to my boyfriend. 100 to his mom.
I'd put it all on a bill. I've been working very hard the last few months on paying down/off debt. So far, I've paid off my husband's truck and a small credit card. I want us to be as debt-free as possible....as soon as possible!
I will send it to my children in the Philippines 700 USD to cover all they want to buy this Christmas. the other 100 I will buy myself one nice boots, and then the other 150, I will cook food for children here on the 24th December. I always do that anyway monthly for the children around the area where I stay.I will save the last 50.
it is 3000 now, I am overwhelm, then I could get the children sweaters and jackets for the cold weather here and more gifts, then also I could cook not monthly but weekly for them, and I could send little bit more for my children too, then I will save 300 for the winter.
oh tantrum thanks also, thats a lot of big help already, I used to feed the children here in the place where I stay, they go here on sunday afternoon, I cook spaghetti always and they eat it with hot dogs, children love that too.. did that yesterday
If you were given ten thousand dollars to help people in your community, how would you use it?What are the worthy charities, organizations or people in your community that you feel deserve to be given financial help?...
