   The Biden White House is in settlement talks to pay up to over a million dollars a family. Once again it would seem this kind of decision-making is very non - sensical.  So, hard to keep up with all the topsy turvy decision-making that comes out of the new administration.

   "FIRST ON FOX: Dozens of House Republicans are sending a letter to three of President Biden’s Cabinet secretaries regarding reports that their agencies are in talks to give illegal immigrants separated at the border under the previous administration $450,000 each.
   
   The Republicans are demanding answers from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
   
   Forty-five House Republicans, including House Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana, GOP Caucus Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York and Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, have signed onto the letter, which is led by North Carolina Rep. Greg Murphy.
   
   In the letter, the Republicans outline their "severe concerns" over reports that the agencies are considering paying $450,000 to illegal immigrants separated at the border under the Trump administration.
   
   "The rationale for this egregious abuse of taxpayer dollars is to compensate these persons for ‘lasting psychological trauma,’" the lawmakers wrote in the letter obtained by Fox News. "Do, however, note that these persons crossed into our country in a knowingly illegal manner, fully aware of the consequences of violating our rule of law."
   
   "Promising tens of thousands of dollars to those who unlawfully entered the United States would not only reward criminal behavior, but it would surely send a message to the world that our borders are open and our rule of law will not be enforced," the letter also reads.
   
   The lawmakers charged that the Biden administration "has been incentivizing illegal immigration since its first day in office" when he struck several Trump-era border policies, which the lawmakers wrote has led to "the worst self-inflicted border crisis in history."
   
   Murphy and his colleagues also warned that if the Biden administration decides to pay the hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer money to "thousands of illegal immigrants," the administration "will unilaterally incentivize migrants from more than 150 nations across the world to surge our border."
   
   So, all I will ask for are straight-up thoughts, what is your opinion on this latest free free free give away from this New Administration.

      *shrug*  What else should we expect from Biden?  His goal is to bring in as many "immigrants" into the country for us to support as he can.  He has done virtually everything he can think of to encourage illegal border crossings as well as legal immigration - should we expect anything different than paying illegals to come in?

         In this case, just knowing how far the American dollar goes in other countries such as Mexico, they will just take their cash and go home, and by the way, live very well. Living in Mexico is very economical. So, if some walk away with cash, I don't think they will stick around to vote. They will head for the fun side of the border.  Take my word I do every winter.  I do think many that had not filed a lawsuit, and abandoned their kids when separated, just never came back to find them --- will soon be filing lawsuits. I think the separation of families involved about 5,000. Most were reunited, when Trump left office there were about 500 still where parents could not be found. So, we will see more lawsuits popping up
         I am sure.
         
         Does it not bother you that the Government is spending so much on immigration when we actually have so many Americans in need?  It really bothers me.  Have we become too complacent, could this be why we see BS like this happening right before our eyes?

            Illegal border crossings have been a fiasco for decades, with the only Americans actually benefitting being the employers.  For decades we have made it clear that we don't truly care; that enforcement of our laws was only a sham.
            
            This simply enforces that; our laws against illegal aliens in the country mean next to nothing.  Biden has even shut down enforcement within the country itself, as if laws passed by Congress mean nothing but a small stumbling block in the way of liberal goals.  Perhaps that's right.

                     Yes, I can see why you feel we are at war. We seem to be at odds on many different fronts. In my view, we are now under attack by Government overreach; attempts to diminish our rights; attempts to shut us up with threats from the DOJ, and FBI;  attempts to overrun our local Governments with immigrants usurping and diminishing funds from our Federal and State level funds; Making ever attempt to change our traditions, and cancel out our American values. I could go on and on---
                     
                     So yes, we are for all purposes it does feel like we have many battles going on all over the place at this point.

                              This would be good news. I have not been able to confirm it. This article was just posted today. I will keep up on the story, and hopefully, the White House will offer a statement on the matter.  I will naturally retract if necessary.  It does appear there have been talks between the Federal Gov and to settle for a large sum of money per family. Maybe common sense will prevail or the political toll will have some doing an
                              about-face on the cash giveaway.

                           The United Nations, before the pandemic, spoke of the New World Order in the context of a green revolution and the dismantling of old industrialized nations in favor of empowering the third world; they created the Compact on Migration where Migrants now have more rights to protection and support than citizens of the host country they are invading.
                           
                           Most of the propaganda coming out of the United Nations these days talks about sustainability, climate goals, and Covid as a singular item, a post pandemic world with only one solution... world socialism disguised as environmentalism.
                           
                           Build Back Better, The Great Reset, The New Normal, The New World Order, Net Zero, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Social Justice, Social Media Censorship (Banning) are all pieces of the same puzzle. On their own, they appear either innocuous or ridiculous, but when placed together in the context of multi-trillion dollar corporate interests these ideas spell disaster for America's citizens.
                           
                           America is no longer run by politicians that answer to the people...and if you feel the need to voice your disfavor for the direction the DC Cabal (aka our federal government) is taking the country be prepared to be labeled and banned.
                           
                           There is no "poor problem-solving" going on here, it is all by design.

      Following remarks at the White House where he urged parents to get their children vaccinated, Biden was asked by Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy about the Wall Street Journal's report and whether he believes it "might incentivize" immigrants to attempt to enter America illegally. Biden responded, "If you guys keep sending that garbage out, yeah, but it's not true."
      "So this is a garbage report," Doocy asked?
      
      "Yeah, $450,000 per person, is that what you said? That's not gonna happen," Biden
      
      The original report from the Journal said that the payments would be issued "to resolve lawsuits filed on behalf of parents and children who say the government subjected them to lasting psychological trauma."
      
      The Journal stated the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services are "considering payments that could amount to close to $1 million a family," though final payment amounts could change as some "families would likely get smaller payouts, depending on their circumstances."
      
      An immediate statement was offered from the ACLU
      Nov 3, 2021 --  ACLU Executive Director Anthony D. Romero suggested Biden might be out of the loop. "President Biden may not have been fully briefed about the actions of his very own Justice Department as it carefully deliberated and considered the crimes committed against thousands of families separated from their children as an intentional governmental policy," he said. "But if he follows through on what he said, the president is abandoning a core campaign promise to do justice for the thousands of separated families., Romero said. "We call on President Biden to right the wrongs of this national tragedy."
      
      So, once again it is obvious Biden just lied...  Or he is not being briefed on what is going on in his administration Or he just forgot...

   WASHINGTON (March 31, 2020)—On Monday, a federal court in Arizona allowed five asylum-seeking mothers and their children who were torn apart under the Trump administration’s family separation policy to move forward with a lawsuit against the United States for the cruel treatment and anguish U.S. immigration agencies inflicted on them. The court denied the government’s motion to dismiss the case.
   
   The lawsuit, filed in September 2019 by five parents and their children, claims that the U.S. government intentionally subjected them to extraordinary trauma that will have lifelong implications. The families taking part in the lawsuit are represented by Arnold & Porter; Kairys, Rudovsky, Messing, Feinberg & Lin; the American Immigration Council; and the National Immigrant Justice Center.
   
   Each plaintiff seeks compensatory damages from the government for its intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence as a result of the administration’s intentional policy to separate migrant families upon entering the United States—a policy that senior government officials have confirmed was designed to deter migrants from seeking refuge in the United States.
   
   In the complaint, the mothers described the harrowing circumstances in which immigration officers forcefully separated their children from them. They received no information as to where the government sent their children (most of whom were sent to shelters across the country in New York) and were provided minimal information on their whereabouts for much of their separation, which lasted months in all cases. The mothers were left in agony, believing they would never see their children again.
   
   “We are pleased that the court rejected the government’s arguments that the law does not provide a remedy to our clients who suffered under the government’s family separation policy,” said Diana Reiter, an attorney with Arnold & Porter. “We look forward to continuing this lawsuit and seeking redress for our clients.”
   
   “In rejecting the government’s attempt to quash this case, the court recognized that the government was not—as it claimed in its motion—enforcing any federal law when it separated these families,” said Trina Realmuto, directing attorney for the American Immigration Council. “The court’s ruling gives these families a chance to hold the government accountable for the horrific impact caused by its ill-conceived family separation policy.”
   
   “Because of the court’s ruling, we will now start the discovery process—taking testimony from witnesses about what happened at the border,” said Jonathan Feinberg, an attorney with Kairys, Rudovsky, Messing, Feinberg & Lin. “Government officials are going to have to answer pointed questions about why they set out to deter immigration by harming parents and children.”
   
   “We are grateful that the court recognized that these mothers and children deserve the opportunity to seek justice for the severe trauma they suffered—and continue to suffer—as a result of the Trump administration’s ‘zero-tolerance’ family separation policy,” said Kate Melloy Goettel, associate director of litigation at the National Immigrant Justice Center. “We believe that once the court hears their stories and reviews the evidence, justice will prevail and find that these families have a right to compensatory damages that will help them access resources they need to heal.”
   
   The U.S. government has admitted to separating at least 4,300 children from their parents or guardians after they crossed the southwestern U.S. border. Reports indicate that the government continues to separate immigrant families entering the United States.
   
   
   Now, how much do you think a US jury is going to pay when it comes to the psychological damage that the Trump administration caused to all 4,300 kids?  Right now, there are 900 claims that have been filed.  Perhaps people are noting that that amount could be more than the settlement offer.  Just the latest example of Biden having to clean up one of the messes left by the Trump Administration's disastrous policies.

      The U.S. Justice Department is in talks to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to each child and parent who was separated under a Trump-era practice of splitting families at the border, a person familiar with discussions to settle lawsuits said Thursday.
      
      The Wall Street Journal first reported that the government was considering payments around $450,000 to each person affected. A person familiar with the talks told The Associated Press that figure was under consideration but changed, though not dramatically. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussions are private.
      
      The discussions continue, and there is no guarantee the two sides will strike agreement.
      
      About 5,500 children were split from their parents under President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy, under which parents were separated from their children to face criminal prosecution for crossing the border illegally, according to court filings in a federal case in San Diego. Inadequate tracking systems caused many to be apart for an extended time. The payments are intended to compensate for the psychological trauma.
      
      Attorneys for the families are also seeking permanent legal status in the United States for those separated under the practice, which a judge halted in June 2018, six days after Trump stopped it amid an international backlash.
      
      The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday night.

      Yes, it will be up to the new administration to respect the court rules or a settlement agreement in the San Deigo case.  The responsibility of the current DOJ will be responsible for where this case goes. Under Trump, they were unwilling to settle and were leaving it thus far in the hands of the court. There were no settlement talks under Trump. We can not know how this case would have concluded. I can imagine not rewarding immigrants with cash.

   Five Mothers and their children were torn apart by the U.S. immigration agencies while seeking asylum. So, they decided to sue the US Government.
   The Government said, "Nope, not going to let the mothers sue us.
   
   But "the Supreme Court" said, "Oh, yes you are!" 
   
   
   Well, these mothers took it upon themselves. They broke the law.
   The policy, in fact, was designed to deter migrants from seeking refuge in the United States.
   
   Good grief!
   
   This is a no-brainer for any fair judge.
   (A judge with an agenda, not so much.)
