Please take some time to red Alyssa’s excellent poem in response to Brenda Arledge’s word prompt 42 “writing.”

Alyssa, I appreciate the shout-out it is always a pleasure to read your creative writing, and although it may not come easy, it is always excellent. Your poem is spot on, and is how I approach writing too. When I am not feeling the inspiration and the words won’t come, I just write about not being able to write lol. You described that very well.

    Alyssa
I absolutely love what you say in your introduction to this poem about writing.

    Others say:

Sit and write every day. Let the words flow, it doesn't matter what you write, just put words down to paper.

    Your response:

Ha! Yeah right, sure. No, that doesn't work for me.

You have to wait until your muse strikes.  Believe me...I totally understand this one but I'm gonna have that ice cream while I wait.
    That's Great advice from Bill.

I'm glad you love these challenges & I'm fine with you being late to the party.
Your work is always worth the wait.

I'm like a kid waiting with anticipation at the candy store.

Your poem, "The Process" shows us how frustrating it is when we try writing and the words just don't flow.

    I love this part:

    "random puzzle pieces
    lost in a jumbled pile"

That's exactly how it feels, but when your muse finally hits you...those words are like music to your ears.

I'll post a link in the word prompt article.

It is always fun knowing what inspires others to write.  I think that many of us can identify with the creative process of Alyssa.  Thanks John for sharing how the words suddenly come into focus for her.
