   It was bad enough in Texas where the law allowed civil suits against those that provide assistance to women seeking abortions in the state beyond the 10 week after fertilization period. The Right wing tribunal that passes a Supreme Court allowed this back door assualt against 1973 Roe vs Wade. I ultimately expect that it will be overturned. Imagine a law allowing your neighbor to spy on you? Putting their probosis' well into your business.
   
   That was bad enough in itself, now, as I have always suspected, it is time for stage 2. I despise Rightwingers as whenever you give them and inch, they take a mile, every time.
   
   There is a dangerous line between criminalizing providing assistance in obtaining abortions within the state where it is illegal and criminalizing those that provide abortion assistance to those that seek abortions in progressive blue states, where it is legal.
   
   So, now are we trying to control the women's options and choices? So ladies, you want to have your hands and feet virtually bound by your umbilical cord just to get the approval of the Extremist conservative agenda?
   
   I am glad that I am not female because I would be raising a storm. Just who do these people think that they are?
   
   They want to criminalize access to and possession of abortion inducing pills, and tell Missouri residents I don't want you to get an abortion anywhere, period. Those that help you get to Mexico or Colorado can be sued.
   
   Stage 3, will probably involve restricting mobility of women seeking abortions out of state. Mark my word, the authoritarian nature of these people know no bounds. Totally outrageous. If you women fall for this, then you are as dumb as they assume that you are, already.
   
   And, Don't tell me that it is extremist and does not represent the party as a whole. I said the same thing about what happened in Texas, but look how many bloody red states are adopting the Texas approach to skirt the Roe vs. Wade ruling. Believe me, THIS is next.
   
   So, I told you what I thought, what do you think?

         Yes, I am on my own, it is dumb to allow someone to restrict your choices and options without just cause as it is here. If you want to willingly offer your hands and feet for manacles and shackles or, worse, impose this on others, then it is dumb. Nothing else can describe it. Like I said, look at the Texas provision and see how widely it has spread to other states. With Republicans, what was once extreme moves into the mainstream pretty fast
         
         There is no room for compromise or kumbaya in this case, GA.

            On the issue of your link, I wouldn't want compromise. It is political idiocy that should never have been proposed. Between this, and the cell phone cameras thing it seems like the Republican party is going nuts.
            
            But that's just my opinion based on how I feel about the issues. As much as I would disagree, I can certainly see a valid contrary opinion from someone that truly believes abortion is murder. Especially if that someone is a woman. That's not dumb Cred, that's living your beliefs.
            
            While we might rationally reason that the contrary position is the wrong one to hold, it is only perspective, not truth or knowledge, that labels it as dumb.

               This kind of stuff is important, GA, and may speak to our subtle differences in regards to the political arena.
               
               Live your beliefs, but don't live mine. You and I both know that there are many different interpretations as to where life begins. Roe vs Wade is the compromise between abortion on demand and life begins as conception. That should be good enough.
               
               When I say dumb, it is ignorant to assume that your rules and beliefs have to apply to me and mine as well. I really could not care less about these people and their religious beliefs as most of what they support and advocate has been found to be rife with hypocrisy. And, I resent that most strongly.
               
               It can be seen in the book banning, cell phone controversy, etc., yet conservatives always complain of too much government. This is going far beyond "differing perspectives". 
               
               It has been the Right that has been rocking the boat toward undermining this landmark ruling, not the left.

                     By the way, reversing Roe vs Wade does not mean women can no longer get abortions.
                     
                     Not all women feel that having an abortion as late as the 9th month is perfectly acceptable. That is a Democrat position only and it is not acceptable in a civilized society, or at least it should not be.
                     
                     But I know, I'm not part of the good ole boys club here. That's a good thing.

   Did you know that it is very hard to un-unite mating dogs?
   My friend is trying to prevent her pups from mating. One is a male and one is a female. Both are about nine months old. The female is currently in heat. My friend has had to tear these two rat terriers apart twice now to prevent pregnancy, since she does not want puppies .... yet. She read that their coupling could last up to 1/2 hour during which time it is almost impossible separate them.( Needless to say, my friend really has her work cut out for her.)
    
   I am amazed at the power of the mating instinct in these dogs.
   All human females would benefit by witnessing this force, nature's sexual urge, by observing dogs, cats and other animals and be very aware of its purpose and consequences.

   Another day, another legislative assault on women.  This time it’s Missouri and a bill to ban abortion in cases of ectopic pregnancy, a life-threatening emergency situation when the fetus becomes lodged in the fallopian tube. Neither the woman nor the fetus can survive a full-term pregnancy in such a case  meaning this bill could sentence both to death. This is “pro-life” activism in today’s radicalized Missouri GOP.
   
   This is the party that is currently considering legislation to impose Missouri abortion restrictions on Missouri women even if they go to other states for the service And this is the state in which elected officials actually consider abortion worthy of capital punishment.  Certainly other states will follow.
   
   Consider a Missouri in which these laws are all in force: A teenager is raped, but by the time she realizes she’s pregnant, eight weeks has passed and she can’t legally abort. Her pregnancy is ectopic, threatening her very life. But to abort would still be illegal. She flees to Illinois for an abortion, but Missouri law follows her there, punishing any Illinoisan who helps her. She manages to get an abortion anyway  and now she and/or her abortion providers face possible execution.
   Sounds like dire dystopian fiction But this is the state that Republicans seek to create.

      You and I can follow the trend and see where it is leading, and it is not to a "happy place". They won't be satisfied until all the woman are stalked  "hogtied".
      
      Seems to me that under this proposed law that they can only prosecute Missouri residents for offering advice and guidance to any woman seeking an abortion in neighboring Illinois or any other state. How can they prosecute a resident of another state for whom the law does not apply?
      
      Regardless of political party or ideology, how can you work with people like these?
      
      It is as you say, "dire dystopian fiction".
      
      And you can bet your bottom dollar that this is just the beginning.....

      You need to be more specific on your assertion.  This is only for "Pro Choice" women.  Pro Life women cheer such legislation.
      
      NEVER assume you speak for all women.  Only a specific segment who agree with your views.  Don't ignore the millions of women who disagree with you.

         What in your mind makes you believe it is lawful to permit civil suits against people who assist women in obtaining an abortion in a state where it is legal? Is misogyny part of the conservative/Republican/rightwing formula? I hope more women open their minds to what you folks propose.
         
         That is the foundation of a dangerous authoritarian attitude.
         
         If you don't want an abortion, don't have one. This has supposedly been settled law, why can't the Rightwinger mind his or her own business?

         I'm speaking for the women who shouldn't die because an abortion is deemed illegal in the event of an ectopic pregnancy. That's barbaric. Who would cheer such legislation? Ectopic pregnancies are not viable and cannot result in a baby and A percentage of mothers die as a result. This is ok?   This is essentially legislating death for a certain percent of women in this situation.

   It's hard to believe the elected officials of Missouri would not want to allow abortions for women with ectopic pregnancies. Of course, it is preferable to prevent death whenever possible! The mother's life would take priority at this point.
