I am going to make some RTA (ready to apply) vinyl lettering for the back windshield of my explorer with my hubpages profile page url ( my partner and I own a sign business so I can do this myself) but I am wondering if my fellow hubbers could give me some ideas of what you would put on your windshield if you were advertising-?
I'm thinking something along the lines of :
    "Article Writing"
    "Online Writer"
    "Online article resources"
    with my url.
Not sure about putting my cell phone number yet ( I would if I had a seperate line but I don't right now)

What I'm basically trying to do is advertise hubpages, and advertise my profile (hopefully people will come visit) and get people to ask me questions about article writing ( maybe I can pick up some freelance jobs)
    Any suggestions??
    Thanks!
(and BTW- when I'm done with it I'll post some pics if anyone else wants to try this too)

I think you would be better off advertising your own domain. It would look more professional and certainly be easier to remember for people who are driving by you.

Then on your own website, you could post links to your hubs.  If you don't have the cash to get hosting or prefer not to run your own site, just buy a domain and point it to your Hubpages profile.

      That's exactly it!

I have a domain name on the back of my car and it takes people directly to a... well in this case, a lens.

I wrote a blog entry about it.

Good blog Darkside and you did a good job on the lettering and I like the effects. Very eye catching, You've really got me thinking now- I can do all kinds of stuff- we have lots of special effects vinyl I could use............
The main thing will be getting the site up to snuff now though before I do this....

Thanks, I have a domain through yahoo but it's limited. I think I need to upgrade it so I can do more at the site. www.intimesurvival.com ( website I want to develop for survival tips and links for record breaking disasters)
I wish I could buy my name for a site but they want $1,000!!
I knew I should have grabbed it along time ago when I first saw it open-

    Dorsi,

If your full name isn't available, maybe you could register your first initial, last name or first name, last initial. You can try variations like this and may find one open. I was fortunate enough that mine was available. Will you do any sign advertising on this new site or just ad for HP?

I have an old site that I am thinking of using for advertising HP and some of my other article sites to help in teaching people about creating an online presence and places to market their business and such. Since I have my new marketing system, I don't really need it anymore but still get lots of traffic there so I don't want to just dump it. It's called Business Scents (it is for a candle business) so the name would still work for what I plan to do with it. There won't be anything for sale on it, just an informational site. I am thinking of a feature page for other hubbers similar to the one Jimmy has except it would have articles about using HP, branding yourself online, etc., etc.

Now, I do have some questions for you about the sign business but I will contact you off HP for that. That is a totally new area for me since I have just now started into more intense advertising of my business. I wish you lots of luck and will be contacting you!

    Bonnie,
We actually have our businessup for sale, if we don't sell it for some reason we will probably bring home some of the equipment, and work from home with it. My husband has some health problems, so we need to get out from all the overhead, and downsize. I imagine he will be making signs no matter what ( sort of once a signmaker always a signmaker...lol..)
I will probably not even mention signs on my site unless we do some sign work from home- then I'll set up a site for him to help him market it ( I want to write- do something different- ready not to see any more signs...lol)
In answer to your question about advertising with signs...magnets are a great way to go- or RTA- here is a hub that I did about magnetics:
    http://hubpages.com/_HubLink/hub/Advert … etic-Signs

    Very cost effective!
    Have a great day Bonnie!
( and yes, e-mail me and I can talk to you more about signs)
or post here- maybe other hubbers can get ideas for advertising too- signs are my bag!
