Mine are still frozen and have been so for several months.

Nailhead hit Kenna. Those "soon" promises look more and more like terminological inexactitudes, to put it politely. "Lie" being such an ugly word.

This has led to all manner of speculation about what is happening and the truth is everything is a wild-arse guess. We, the galley slaves, won't know anything until the skipper either hoists new sails or steers for the rocky shore. (Enough with the maritime metaphors Taylor)

What's top of mind now is that the Toronto Blue Jays are about to show the New York Yankees how to play baseball. Oh dear. I just might have jinxed them.

The time for new sails is long gone. The only question now is whether it's the rocks or scurvy and starvation that kills the ship's occupants.

Optimism is generally a good thing, but keeping a glimmer of hope in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary is unwise.

To be honest, I don't think anyone is working on this site anymore. That's why it's drifting. Having a lying captain is overoptimistic.

Was that accusation about lying levelled at me? I don't see how my comment about terminological inexactitude could be interpreted as a personal attack. Even the most cursory reading would surely reveal it was directed at admin.

It seems we have reached the stage at which no matter how innocuous something you say or write someone will choose to be offended by it.

Yes, you obviously weren't involved, Rupert. People are squabbling with each other as the Titanic disappears below the waves.

You were clearly making gallows humor from the bleak situation.

Whether some people have changing stats because of deletions, glitches, or misrepresentation is of zero consequence, given the big picture.

TAG stands for The Arena Group, the outfit that owns HubPages. Although, it might also reasonably said to stand for Terrible Author Grinder.

After having my stats working for some time, they have stopped functioning again. It's been about 4 days now without any movement at all.

What?  Your stats were woking!  I check my site every day, sometimes several times a day, and mine have not been working since July 16, 2025.

By stats in this conversation, I mean "page views"; other stats work, for example, it does show new articles and their monetization along with published date, changed date, and featured status.

But pages views has been frozen since the middle of July.  So discouraging!

My Page Views stat has been frozen since July 16, 2025.  The other sats—"Article Title, Score, Published, Changed, Status, Featured" and the monetization function—are all still operative.

I'm wondering about the messages here claiming that their stats were working sporadically but then froze again.  I check my site every day, sometimes several times a day, and the Page Views stat has not changed since mid-July. Are you sure your stats were unfrozen any time since mid-July?

I know some of you claim to have given up, but I see you see appear here from time to time.  I am continuing to work on my site by adding articles and curating other details, for example, I just finished updating every article from the past two years, all 900+ of them.

My plan was to delete all my articles and leave for good by year’s end, if certain issues were not addressed accurately.  But I am still accruing a few pennies a day, so I remain somewhat encouraged.  When I finally got above 10 cents a few days ago, I felt that I was making progress.

I keep thinking/hoping maybe some enterprising, energetic individual will step up and work on making this site profitable again.  Is that too much to hope for?   Maybe we should all put out feelers about recruiting such a person?  Just a thought.

I wouldn't hope for anything to change here. They are only making a profit by cutting us out. Spinning our content and redirecting links away from our articles.

Updating only helps HP. I wouldn't expect to see significant traffic increases while Owlcation continues to rank over your articles. You can file DMCAs though and they will remove their content.

The only stat change I've personally seen was due to deleting articles.

It's been over three months for me. I can probably do a better job than them. What problem could they possibly be having with their systems? I started writing on Medium. It's way better than Hubpages. It's not worth writing and updating articles here on Hubpages for just 2-3 cents a day. These are my thoughts at this point.

Odd.  It would be nice if they gave more information.  I can see if the grand total of all hits reached a number too high for the programing.  Such as what was feared with Y2K.  Highly speculative of course.

I doubt the reason is technical.

IMO, it's unlikely to be a matter of too many views. Since April, many hubbers have deleted their hubs, and when you do so, the number of views the deleted hub(s) enjoyed is removed from the total.

I would bet that the grand, grand total is now way lower than the figure in April 2025. People who have deleted their hubs include several with the million badge and even the 10-mil badge.

Yes, and there have been many articles moved to PetHelpful et al without the account holder's knowledge. None of those will figure in the stats.

Good points.  Wonder if them moving articles and taking those articles off the stats threw their counting software into a flat spin.

    2. Shesabutterfly profile image82
Shesabutterflyposted 32 hours agoin reply to this

The team does not need to respond. You can go to Owlcation yourself and search for your titles. You'll find at least 4 or 5 that were spun from yours.

They would never openly admit or deny knowing about what is happening on a site that no longer belongs to HubPages.

      1. Linda S Grimes profile image64
Linda S Grimesposted 31 hours agoin reply to this

I have looked for articles on Owlcation that might have been copied from mine, but I have not found any.  I do suspect that they might be using our subjects, but then they rewrite them—or likely have AI rewrite them. For example, I wrote about José Rizal, and they have an article on him.  It is rare to find articles on this poet, so I suspect they got the idea from my work.  But that's only a suspicion.

I have a very different perspective from the traditional on certain subjects such as the Shakespeare authorship and the classification of the Shakespeare sonnets.  So while they are addressing Shakespeare issues they clearly have not been ripping off my take. I suspect they disagree with my claims and are writing to refute them without mentioning my claims.

But I do wish the HP Team would come on here and explain what is happening.  Are they working to help us thrive or are they just letting us die?

I really don't want to leave HP based on suspicions.  But I do keep wondering why the Team will not at least try to allay our suspicions. . .
