It would be nice to be able to bulk load tags intead of painstakingly adding them one at a time. If anything, it would save a whole lot of time.
LOL I will. I don't think it would be too hard to add a box to add all your tags at once at the first stage of creating a hub. Right now it only asks for two to get started, I'm sure the HP team can come up with a better solution.
I thought it wasn't a good idea to have excessive numbers of tags?
I add two at the start, then look at the "suggested tags" once I've finished. That usually covers most of the ones I wanted, anyway, and it's a matter of seconds to click and add them.
It's not. And if we could 'bulk load' them the spammers would have a field day.
Bulk load was probably the wrong way to phrase it, being able to load multiple tags at the start of the hub would save some time. I really don't give a crap what the spammers do, I'm writing for me. Spammers aren't going to take the time to do proper SEO.
Then again, I'm not so sure how much weight tags carry anyway. As far as I can tell, they are only good for searching here on HP and for allowing the Google Adsense script to place relevant ads.
Here's a look at how tags can help even for Google
http://hubpages.com/hub/Hubpages-Traffic-Use-of-Tags
That's a good hub on tags John. I see the value of tags as a system of internal linking though they carry little weight on their own as keywords. (Though I rarely use a tag that isn't also used as a keyword in my hub.)
The only problem I'm having with them is the fact that now I can only enter 2 and then I have to use the mouse after each additional entry. Am I the only one having that problem? I use to be able to type in a tag and hit enter but now I have to reach over for the mouse..lol yes it seems trivial but it slows me down.
when my readers numbers drop off,I update the tags and it goes back up.Do you have to do that every day to each hub?
Most platforms like Wordpress will let you add several at a time by separating them with commas. That would help some.
That's what I would like to see here too.
My tags show up as a separate search engine listing. So I really do think that they help SEO and I plan them as they do. Don't care what anyone else says.
But they aren't the most important SEO that I do either. Never waste a chance to attract a BOT is my attitude.
I've noticed that too, Nelle. Have I lost my mind or weren't we able to load as many as we wanted by simply clicking the enter key when we first started a hub and now we can only put two before it clicks you through to the next step? Why did we change that I wonder? Now that it's like that, I do what Marissa said she does. I put the two at the beginning and then I let HP help me with the others. But, I still add some of my own that HP doesn't suggest based on what I think is appropriate.
No, you haven't lost your mind, and I liked the old way better too. I used my keyword tool - wordtracker - to create my tags. Of course those are the phrases I build my hub around too.

I've been on here for a few years, and I guess I never really understood the point of these scores. They don't seem to provide any real value to the user and I can't convince myself that they add value because they fluctuate so much. What's the point? Am I supposed to use these scores to tell me...

After 6 months on the site i've started the really wonder how many backlinks is a reasonable number to any hub, and really to a hub becoming successful? Or is it simply a lottery. What kind of figures do other hubbers consider?

At the beginning of December my traffic was down by around 60%. My hubs were in the same position in the SERPs as they had been previously, so the whole situation was rather odd. Today however, my traffic is up to pre December levels and climbing. Anyone else experiencing a surge in traffic?

And indeed my hub rating, after doing something with my hubs.It may seem like stating the obvious, but I went through all of hubs and put the absolute maximum number of tags that I could before it said "you have too many tags" or whatever it says. When it said that I had too many tags I...

Ok, I did look at the FAQ's before coming here, and I found a hub on tags and read it. But it seemed to contradict another article I read. I also read through the comments and noticed that another hubber posted my question 4 months ago and has yet to get a reply so I am going to ask...
