    What's your all-time favorite movie? And why?

    I'll start with The Last of the Mohicans. It has a beautiful story on war, love, survival and redemption. It has some incredible scenery and a great music score.  I really love this movie!

      I've been thinking about this a lot lately.  At this stage of my life, I can't possibly choose one.

      Strong contenders?  2001: A Space Odyssey because it was highly engaging and introduced me to Arthur C. Clarke's strange world of evolutionary midwives and infinite possibilities;

      Life of Brian because it was smart, silly, and critical of human belief.  Not to mention having one of the best endings in the history of film; and

      Synecdoche, New York for its profound artistic ambition which is all too often written off as self indulgent pretension.  It is convoluted, chaotic, and clumsy by design, which makes for a difficult but ultimately rewarding viewing experience.  Dig deep and you'll find a distinct logic at its core, totally unlike anything I've seen before.

    "Gone With the Wind" because it was the first movie I ever saw AFTER I had read the book--- and was quite surprised that it exceeded my imagination while reading.

    Amadeus. The music of course, but also everything works to create a magnificent cinematic experience (for me) smile

    Ok, it's a three-way tie:

    It's a Wonderful Life
    A Room With a View
    Howard's End

    What can I say? I'm still an English major at heart!

      Whenever I find out that someone likes American Psycho, whether it be the movie or the book, I think two things:

      1.  there must be something wrong with this person, and
      2.  we would probably get along
