Tiger Woods perhaps is more well-known than any other sportsman globally right now. And, the richest. Is it any wonder that he had affairs?

I don't think that's necessarily the reason he wanted to keep his personal life private. Even if he were the most faithful husband in the world, I get the sense that a man that is constantly in the spotlight for his athletic prowess, would welcome a little privacy when it comes to his family - as most of us would.

It has been reported for many years that Tiger Woods has been almost reclusive with regard to his privacy.  More so than even Michael Jackson.  With reports saying as many as nine mistress' were involved, how could this have taken place with any usual celebrity scrutiny?

I guess don't understand what you're asking/saying. Are you implying that there should have been more attention paid to him? Or that the media was aware and they looked the other way?

I think the latter would be more true than the former.  It could be a combination of both.  Tiger did grant interviews occasionally but they were under his total control and maybe the possible prize interview kept most media off the trail.  Mind you we would not be talking about this had he been able to control his Escalade.  The media did not break this story,  unfortunately for Tiger his poor driving did.

Don't you think the media is playing the gotcha game here? Like its "payback" time......you avoided us, now we are dogging you? Whats sad about all of this is that someday his children will be reading all of this.

Well now that the cat is out of the bag so to say.  But I really think when the police and club totting wife got involved there was no way this thing wouldn't blow up in his face. The media are like sharks with something like this and they don't want to miss out on the meal.

No. Let's take a look at the facts:
      1. He's a jock
      2. His first name is tiger
      3. He's handsome so he probably attracts hundreds of women
      4. He's a famous athlete so he probably attracts hundreds of women.
      5. He's a rich famous athlete so he probably attracts hundred of women.
      6. His wife is beautiful which shows he has an eye for eyecandy...and probably has a sex addiction.
      7. He's a jock. Don't need to say more.

I think sports figures are by nature "role models" in the sense of having developed athletic skills and qualities that made it possible for them to achieve the level of success they have in the sport: diligence, perseverance, even temperament, team player, the value of training, respect for colleagues, fair play and sportsmanship, grace under stress, the pursuit of excellence, and so forth.

Thus, these are the qualities worthy of emulating that relates to the sport.

    Just my thoughts.

Tiger Woods is definitely a great athlete who has fallen under pressure.  In no way shape form or fasion should he or any other person in the public eye be looked at as perfect.  This is the problem with onlookers,we tend to imagine that celebrities have these great lives with this perfect temperment;and when they mess up they become the center of ridicule.  It's sad.  I don't condone cheating, it's wrong and that's how people get hurt.

I think he loves golf, the sport, and the opportunities it has given him. If sex is another thing he loves, thats fine, great for him. Just don't get married then. There are plenty of athletes who are wealthy and have their way with many women. But if his wife isn't cool with it, then maybe he shouldn't have gotten married.

First off ladies and gentlemen we need to look at ourselves before we judge other peoples lives. None of us are perfect; put yourselves in his shoes, if anybody here was a celebrity what would the media have to say or found out about your lifestyles? You may see nothing wrong with it but other people might disagree, it's only a matter of everybodies opinions and beliefs. What he did was wrong a sin in the eyes of God; but that's just it God's eyes, only he can judge. We are to observe, learn, and teach from the lessons and mistakes others and most important ourselves have made. In the end in honest truth not a person here has not done something in the dark that nobody knows about, we just have not been caught yet.

The whole Tiger words saga isn't surprising to me because in our culture today it seems like only a matter of time before those we put up on a pedestal fall from grace, but I was saddened by the news of Tiger Woods indiscretions. It is his life and I am not condemning him for his actions I guess I just thought that we was above the fray and lived the perfect life it appeared he was. Ultimately though tiger is human and made a mistake that none of his fans or members of the media has a right to judge him on until they've walked a mile in his shoes.

An affair with one woman - I could understand - maybe even two women - but now we're up to 10+ women. I'm sorry - but athlete or not, millionaire or not, the man is a douche bag. ANY man would be a douche bag in the same situation, celebrity or not. There is NO excuse. If you can't keep it in your pants - don't get married.

Now - before you all go hating on me - that's just MY opinion. We can agree to disagree.

Why would I hate you? If you think I'm intolerant of other people's opinions than that's just your misunderstanding...I'll consider something that's logical and disregard those that are not (I'm a bit cut and dry like that). If he's a douchebag then alcoholics and drug addicts are douchebags. He obviously has a problem and needs professional intervention to control it.

Not you in particular :-) I just know how these forums can get sometimes - lol.

If he in fact does have an addiction, then that's a whole different issue. I automatically placed him in a group that consisted of weathy men with power and notoriety, who feel that they can do what they want, regardless of who they hurt, just because of what they have and who they are. As they say - power corrupts - and in many different ways. There are many of those out there - they are the douche bags.

If he so happens not to fall into this category, they I stand corrected. But - that is still up to debate at this time.

There is no justifiable reason for cheating and lying. IMHO.

If you love having sex with lots of women either don't get married or marry someone who's cool with having an open relationship. Lots of women out there who would be happy to be Tiger's wife and maintain an open sexual relationship.

And we need to stop putting people on pedestals. No-one is perfect. We cannot expect perfection in humanity. We can ask for honesty though from ourselves and those in our lives.

That's all we can do. :-)

If it is an addiction. We don't know if it's an addiction or not. None of us know the truth except what Tiger has admitted to himself publicly.

And I've had partners with addictions. I know a lot about them. It was still a choice for him to deceive his wife instead of being honest to himself and about himself.

Having a sex addiction is like being a drug addict. You must have your drug of choice because you want the high and you can't help yourself...that's what makes it an addiction. If they could help it, it wouldn't be an addiction.

Yep, I understand that. I'm not saying  if he has a sex addiction that he can stop himself.

What I'm saying is that he chose to be dishonest about it. There are lots of people with addictions who respect their partner enough to fess up. To be honest and not lie about the truth of who they are.

They are healthy addicts. In order to get better, a person with any type of addiction must admit that they have one and that's usually a problem. I have a friend who still won't admit he's an alcoholic and he's stumbling down a cliff.
