    Hello All,

I've just published a hub with tips on how to use the Law of Attraction online in forums.
    I welcome any feedback.

<snipped link--please do not start threads for the sole purpose of promotion>

    Sincerely,
    Dali Burgado

How to Use Forums Effectively for Network Marketing:

Be a real person, write real information, become a part of the community and obey forum rules when posting?  Just a thought. . . .

        That's pretty much it.

Don't even promote anything, just get a feel for the group dynamics. Later if you have a link that specifically answers a question that someone has, then post it.

And give value. Attraction marketing is all about attracting people to you, and nothing repels people more than spamming them. In my humble opinon.

Establish a relationship with the group and then market to them... haha. (So I've heard.)

Don't over push or promote on other forums. Become part of it and don't just spam, never spam, spam doesn't help. Spam just sits around in a can all day.

    Hello Dali,

I had a chance to check out you hub, and it was very sincere and full of good information. Keep up the good work and you will make the cover.

    Good Luck

Dali, you've just given us all an excellent example of how NOT to use the Law of Attraction online in forums. You're a complete stranger here, and your first action is to annoy everyone with a thinly veiled effort to promote your Hub (you may not be able to see you're annoying them, because they are so annoyed they're not commenting - but I can assure you, the reaction is there)

As Thranax said, if you want to use forums as an avenue for attracting customers, make the effort to become part of the community first before you start self-promoting.  Otherwise you will alienate rather than attract.

I'm a little disconcerted by the way other hubbers are attacking Dali, as it looks like she's still pretty new. I  think it would be more productive for us to guide her in the right direction, than to slam her with insults.

I'm just venturing into the forum area for the first time, and I'm sad to see this as one of my first impressions.

      Hi Dali and candees.
      Welcome to hubpages forums

@ Candees: I'm sorry, but I couldn't see anyone attacking Dali. They WERE guiding her in the right direction.
I'd be interested to hear what it was that you saw as an attack.

Hi Eric, thanks for the welcome.

Maybe "attacking" was too harsh a word. But insulting wasn't. For instance:

"You're a complete stranger here, and your first action is to annoy everyone with a thinly veiled effort to promote your Hub"

...not helpful, insulting. In my impression, and after visiting Dali's hub, it seems like she was just trying to become a part of the Hub world by getting her feet wet and let people know she's here. I agree that wasn't the best way to do it, but most of the responses just coldly or sarcastically told her that was wrong instead of giving her applicable advice on what a better way would be. Like produce quality hubs, become part of discussions, comment on other hubs, etc.

Just my two cents, and maybe that was not the intention, but it did come off that way. I think it would be great to help others and keep things positive smile

Candees, sorry if you thought I was being insulting - I was just telling it like it is.  There are several Hubbers who would have been annoyed and would have been much less polite!

Remember, she was presenting herself as being an authority on how to use forums to attract customers.  I think I was entitled to point out that she was doing it completely wrong!

And if you read my second paragraph, you'd see I did explain what she should have done.

Ahh - You will notice that Dali has not returned - he was here solely to leave a link, which was removed. I call him a he because a photo of a pretty woman as an avatar does not automatically mean it is a woman.

Which is rather funny if you look at the title of the thread.

      Ironic even big_smile

When you have seen a few hundred of these, you may change your tune smile

And  links on her profile go to "Attraction Marketing" sites brought to you by the Ann Seig/RU tagteam.
More like Repulsion Marketing if you ask me! But there's certainly a lot of people worshipping at this particular altar.

(And I'm shocked and appalled Mr. Knowles, at your suggestion that someone associated with a reputable movement like this would lie about their sex ! )

And Sorry Candees, you probably find this post distasteful too.
        But like Mark said: after you've seen hundreds . . . . .

Hmmm... still a bit undecided, but you all do have a point. I'm sure that you see hundreds of spam posts and are sick of them. I can understand that.

I did look at one of her hubs, in which she has a video embedded of herself talking about the whole attraction marketing thing. If she's a man, she's darn convincing smile

Hope to see you all around...

You can let people know you're here by posting and y'know, saying hi.

For someone whose hub would lead one to believe she's at least passing familiar with forums and forum etiquette, she didn't do a very good job of getting herself to be attractive to anything but negative attention.

Besides that, there are a number of the more outspoken individuals who visit the forum who are vocal against spam and self-serving promotional threads.  Most people who take the time to read the rules of the forums, or even read the FAQ, both skills that even a journeyman in the IM possess, don't start with their first posts being promotional in nature.

This post by Dali just seems really spammy to me.  I am sure they are a nice person, but no one wants to read spam.  Lately I have seen people cutting and pasting spammy ads out of google newsgroups.

The op i'm sure is still learning.

The key to getting your message out is talking to the right audience.

Not everyone in the business forum is a network marketer.

Find where network marketers hang out and then deliver the message to them.

Business lesson 101 - know your audience.
