Are those with no access and knowledge of the Bible going to Hell?

I would assume there are places in the world where one may not have ever seen, or heard of the Bible. Or perhaps they may have heard of it but can not or are not allowed to have access to it.  And perhaps they have not had any exposure to the teachings in the Bible.  So how do these individuals know they are supposed to be following some sort of rules that God made or they will be severely punished?  Does God send these people to hell anyway even though they have no idea he even exists and his orders are to be followed?

He sure does.  Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Would you care to explain what happened to the souls of millions of North, Central, and South American Indians before the year 1492?

        Busted.

One can gain salvation without reading a single scripture.Till my spiritual experience I was unable to read a single spiritual book or just couldnt understand what they meant. So I rarely managed more than a few pages of the book before giving it up.smile

Well, according to Revelations, only 144000 will go to heaven, so the majority of us seem to go to hell, no matter what big_smile

Maybe God didn't count on there being so many people in the future and set it at an arbitrarily low number.  I would also think God has the right to change even his own laws if he decides too. To kind of change with the times.

Not showing a great deal of foresight for an omnipotent being big_smile

If I was god - I would just go back and re-write the numbers lol

I guess the people who wrote this fairytale thought 144,000 was a lot of people back then and could not imagine a day when there were billions of people. What with all the smiting, turning into pillars of salt and plagues of locusts etc etc that were prevalent in those days. big_smile

    That's not so, Mishenka.

    There is no Hell, remember?

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Hell-What-Hell

According to the Scriptures (as translated from the original languages directly into English), the good people of the world get new bodies and live forever in the Kingdom of Jesus on Earth, and the troublesome sorts just cease to exist.

Sort of like the Rapture in reverse. Not surprising that the fundamentalist Christians have it exactly backwards, LOL. So many years of manipulation of the Word of God for political ends have that effect ...

Actually, I would not have a problem with that scenerio. Just cease to exist. But where would all the fun go in  brutily punishing  people tell the end of time for crimes they committed on Earth?  I have often been suspect about Hell anyway.

It's the same as racist apartheid. All the good people this side of town, and all those others on the other side of the tracks.

This is a serious question.  I've met several fundamentalist Christians over the years who have told me, categorically, that you can only go to Heaven if you accept Jesus into your life.  If the Bushman in the Kalahari really wanted to find Jesus, God would find a way to send him a missionary - so if he doesn't hear about Jesus, it's his own fault and he's going to Hell.

Personally, I don't know how the Bushman can want to find Jesus if he's never heard of such a being, but maybe I'm just thick.

You are not thick. There is no logic there. That is why they have the concept of 'faith'.

Reading a book to know where you're going is so old school in this age cool

Not a spiritual book or a holy book as they are timeless.
