I think I would rather be an unconscious animal running around without a care or regret in the world. I think it would be much less stressful to be an animal compared to the neverending reasoning and conscience of being a human.

Which would you rather be and why?

Surely it is better to be an animal, unless of course you understand the value of that consciousness.

      And that I have understood.

I love being human BUT it has many downsides with guoit worries, bills to pay etc.

Animal life might just all be easier but then that depends on the animal.

Some are endangered, some are prey, nothings perfect right?

    cool

Yes, good point. Depending on what animal you were, it might not be so fun. Maybe if I could pick the animal I could be, I would be down. lol

humans I like the capacity to have morals and to think

If morals and thinking are so important, why is it so stress free to live without thinking about thoughts or morals?

then you cant think of what youre missing

the thing is, if youre a human being, you have the capacity to better yourself to weigh things, decisons and be part of society, there are ills of society but then it is still worth being a human than an animal hehe

Good points again. Maybe it still depends on the individual situation. If there was a choice between being a free animal or a human with a life sentence in prison, which would you choose? I would be the free animal.

yet you can still write a book while inside prison??

I will agree with PDH on this one. I would rather be Human, with my own free will thought, so I can control my own life.

If I were an animal, then the HUMAN Consciousness I enjoy so much would be gone and then I wouldn't have a clue about anything in life or even life itself.

Animals are guided by nature's guidance. These animals, as you put it, don't think for themselves. Everything animals do is by instinct or reaction. There is no thought process or introspection of oneself. smile

The hassle of having bills to pay and busses to catch and so on is worth not being torn to pieces by a large cat.

If I could be an animal before everything became industrialized, that would be the path I would choose. Since currently it wouldn't be too fun to be an animal because they don't have many areas to be free (because of humans >.<), I would have to be an human.

However, I would love to trade places with my cat for a day. Haha, he has quite the life mopping around being a house cat.

This brings up another question, do some humans not choose to live in captivity of their belief?

    Uh oh.

Beliefs are not demonstrated as people living in captivity. A belief system structure for humans is to be based on your faith in your own ability, to discern truth and lie.

If those who cannot discern between truth and lie, are held captive, by those who choose to manipulate, use or abuse others, as they see fit. smile

I'd rather be an animal...They don't destroy everything around them, use up all the planets natural resources or build destructive things (generally speaking.) Maybe I'd be a cockroach so that I could see what the world looks like after we destroy it.
