I don't know about you but I find a woman without hair completely revolting.. yuk!

As I was going to the pharmacy today I bumped into this girl who scared the pajamas of me as she was totally bald.. She really did look hideous.. even a cancer patient looks better than this girl!!

My grandmother once told me that the essence of a woman's beauty is her hair.. Now I don't mind short hair but no hair on girls is like mixing acid and alkaline..

But it now seems fashionable for women to loose their hair.. I mean we already are constantly showing more skin, but the skin on your head is one thing NO-ONE wants to see!!

  I agree, she looked beautiful. I much prefered her bald. Imagine how great it would be in terms of time wasted, money etc if we were all bald. Though I supose it would be taken up by sun screen, or if you live in Northern Europe; hats.

  Maybe wigs are the answer. Shove one on your head and get hubbing, fabulous, Always hated my hair anyway. But I'm told they make your head hot. Still it would cut down on heating costs. Wigs it is then.

  Well you do seem extremely shallow so I am not surprised. One of my ex-girlfriends was totally bald and it was never an issue for me.

  That was me about a year ago. I did not like the way I looked bald, but I couldn't stand to wear a wig and sometimes went out in public without a head cover when I was going through chemo for breast cancer.

  as I said on my posts. Family members had cancer and they died.
  They were happy people until the end, and laughed at their baldness all the time.
  We see things differently. Maybe because we don't feel guilt. We don't believe in God.

  I called the woman I saw hideous because I was trying to be as graphic as possible in describing her.. I made no reference to cancer or anything to do with cancer..

  Even if she were bald on purpose, it's quite common for friends and family members of a cancer patient to shave their heads as well. I know I shaved my head when my aunt started losing her hair. It wasn't an aesthetic thing, it was a way to show her that we supported her and we loved her no matter how much hair she had or didn't have.
  
  But, because of people who constantly judge others by how they look, I took to wearing a stocking hat in public, even in the summer.

  Saw these people every day for years, I knew them pretty well, just not well enough to go into personal details about the health of family members. Also, because of my mental illnesses, I dislike being stared at so it was just a lot easier for me.

I think there are more people than you might think who do not have a choice about their baldness.

I think there are some women who pull of the bald look amazingly well.

I love my hair; I probably wouldn't shave it because I don't have the kind of face that would work well with the look, but I find it intriguing and striking on others.

I think calling anyone hideous based on how they look is a bit superficial...if you're going to call someone hideous at least make it based on something that matters (i.e., their inner person)

  bald due to illness, sure, they might look hideous and that would be an accurate word, but an ill person who is suffering deserves just a smidgeon of tolerance and udnerstanding.
  
  no joke, two days ago I was taking a bath, and thinking, I love my hair. Its reddish brownish blonde and curly/wavy goes to just about my waist. (Im not really a manly looking carrot)
  I sort of felt vain thinking about how much I like my own hair. But really, my hair is nice and I work at keeping it nice.
  
  I would be so sad if something happend to make it fall out. I think any woman who looses hair due to illnes, its insult to injury and I think it would be godawful to make fun of her. BUT if she did it on purpose and it looks yucky, you should be allowed to say so.

  I think the only time I remember having short hair is when I stuck gum on my hair.. I was chewing gum and fell asleep and the gum ended up all tangled in my hair.. I did everything I could to prevent cutting but eventually I did. I cried for two months before it grew back again

I went bald once because of lice. I have 3 kids with a lot of hair and I also have a lot of hair. But because I didn't have anyone to help me and do my hair when the horrible lice hit and i was already doing my two daughters, I made the choice to shave my head to simplify the problem. It wasn't beautiful but my hubby actually found it sexy.

as a man with a shaved-head myself, I thank Michael Jordon for paving the way for bald men to be accepted for what we are... very, very sexy.

I love long hair. I have a thing for it. But if you were perfect for me in every other way I would not kick you out of my bed. Besides, you can always buy wigs for times when you don't want to be bald.

I like long beautiful hair on a woman, but short hair is nice too, and bald wouldn't bother me either, what's most important is a beautiful smile and bright eyes and that look that says, I'm glad you're mine!

I think we shouldn't give them odd looks. It suits some people - like Sinead O'Connor. She chose to be bald. However, 9 times out of 10, it's due to an illness. Some people wear wigs, some choose to be brave and leave it bald. (because that's what the illness did).

  My being a christian has nothing to do with being horrified and this lack of maturity or compassion. Her mental menturity is very questionable from her original post. Obviously not all hubbers are adult enough to not make fun of an unfortunate situation.

  I am here because I, too, have the right to my opinion and I am here to voice my opinion for all the bald women who may cross your path. I am here because I was bald from cancer and I probably looked hideous but it was part of a process to save my life and i dealt with it and thankfully never crossed your ugly path.

But don't you get it? You never know when you make fun of someone's appearance whether or not they are suffering from a disease. She might have had cancer, she might not have. She might have had alopecia, she might not have. She might have just chosen to shave her head. It's not up to you to judge how other people are allowed to look.

You asked what people think, and we are telling you. Sorry we didn't all agree with you.

  Laughing about a hairless woman in a pharmacy is far from nice. Cancer survivors are tougher than you realize, and have no problem standing up for what is decent and right. If you are banking on good looks to carry you for life - you may find out looks are temporal. That core beauty is what matters.

  You are very right. I'm ashamed that I got roped into this madness. I have always thought that the bs that goes on in these forums (like in the religion and political ones) is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. I have only participated in the forums thus far to ask question or gain technical information mostly - this is definitely my first forum "drama." I guess I'm a little touchy about certain topics.
