1950 & 1960 Baseball cards AND wooden fishing lures. These will be sold and the proceeds go to the grandchildren.
I tend to collect art and crafting supplies. I always have intentions to use them but most of the time it seems to be more of a collection.
I collect angels and inspiring poems to remind me that no matter what life throws my way, i will survive, my faith, family and friends will see me through.
Memories...
I've had a childhood which is uneasy to recall due to its negatives, and equally sad because there's noting I can fondly remember the little positives...
This has inspired me to collect all the little things my children do to save up for them when they grow up...often we dont remember our childhood time as we get busy with life...but every once in a while, the 'child' in you wants to feel secure by just looking at the old photographs, scrapbooks, old childhood doodles on mom's notepad, old receipts of favorite clothes, old special toys to remember and smile and feel comfortable for a long time before darting off into the busy world...
Dust...but I also collect books which collect dust. I love reading and I have so many books that I just hate to get rid of. I call it a collection but maybe it's hoarding. Not sure.
I LOVE collecting things, its so interesting to see how the value and importance of things changes over time. I collect shells, foreign/old coins, foreign paper money, toys (crazy bones, video games), playing cards (pokemon, magic the gathering, yugioh), glass containers, knick knacks of most sorts, beanie babies (used to at least), books (one of my favorite collections), board games, and more or less anything that has interesting stories or packaging.
Green snuff jars. No, I don't 'do' snuff, but I thought these were pretty. Or maybe they are snuff bottles. I don't remember. Ha
Far too much! Like duffsmom, there are the art and craft materials, then there's embroidery, cross-stitch, quilting, seeds for the garden, shells from every seaside place we've visited, I think. Oh, yes, and even pebbles from Cornwall, Chessil Bank and Scotland, books, photos, stamps. Now, where was I?
i collect coins from all over the world, doesn't matter whether it's old or new. When i was young, i used to collect stamps but gave up because i found out most of them are fake. I learnt the history of the country from the coins i collected. Very facinating!!
I like to collect rocks of all kinds. Some I have been able to identify, others I'm still not sure of. Some of them look really neat, sparkly or striped; others have an interesting feel to to them. Some come from very ordinary places like the creek where I grew up, others from places overseas like Thailand and Korea.
I also have a fair collection of small shells. They are also from the various places I've been (except there are none from the creek.) The shells are, for the most part, from more exotic places.
I collect. That says it. Anyway, specifics; giraffe statues and pictures, my grandmothers matching china and crystal, Amberina glass from the 30's and 40's, a certain type of Japanese dishes from pre-WWll, a certain style of furniture from the 20's and 30's.
I also collect Anne McCaffrey books and Diana Gabaldon. I have them in hardback. I try to get rid of most of the other books. If it does not fit in my book case, I have to get rid of something. I also collect some little glass animals. My china cabinet is overflowing so I got another one. It is now overflowing. I also have a couple of display cases. My craft collection is restricted to an old trunk. If it doesn't fit in there I can't have it.
Good news, if I really need money, I can sell a few pieces and get a thousand. If you have to collect, make it something that is worth something.
I collect fashion magazines. I don't know really why, but I do. I love to see Hollywood stars and their glamorous looks and the latest trend setters in fashion world.
I collect books. Dragon Ball Z and Fushigi Yuugi card games.. sound silly, but i just love it.
I love antiques and over the years I have acquired some really nice items. Some items aren't that expensive but they are unique, like my collection of old, big keys. I don't collect antique furniture, except for a table, as I like comfort. I think my interest really goes along with my passion for genealogy research. History is fascinating to me.
I like collecting postcards and I'm not sure if this counts but I can't throw away letters/memos/notes/cards that people have given to me over the years. I find it so sweet that they took the time to handwrite me something!
I like wearing earrings, so I have an entire collection. I also have a collection of old photos.
