I can't lose weight... Why?
I have been trying for over a year. I recently cut calories to between 900 and 1200 a day. I been doing that for 2 weeks and I've only gained 2 pounds. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I work out, no weight loss, I cut calories, not weight loss... What am I doing wrong? I tried everything aside from starving myself.
You could have a hormone imbalance which can cause this problem, or you are allergic to certain foods which can cause weight gain. You should see your doctor. They have blood test they can run which will tell you what is wrong.
Cutting calories is a great start, but think about the foods you're still consuming. Are you still eating foods that contain alot of sugars, fats, or sodiums? Have you tried adding more whole grains, fruits, and veggies to your diet? Also, make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids, especially water. When I need to drop a few quick pounds, I make sure to keep a bottle of water on me at all times, snack on apples throughout the day, and stick to a couple of small, balanced meals. If you're looking for more weight loss, these tips are still helpful, but you're going to have to be patient. Healthy weight loss isn't supposed to be instantanious, and you're going to experience periods of time where your body plateaus. Stick with it, and good luck!
You are doing good. Check your food what you are consuming and start drinking matcha green tea it will definitely reduce your weight. I am having Aiya matcha green tea since a long time on regular basis and it helped me in reducing my weight.
It's probably down to the food that you eat. If you have an android phone there is a free app called 'Noom' which allows you to keep track of your diet and exercises. It's easy to use and tells you how many calories you're burning. I use this along with another app called 'Workout Trainer' which is also available on iPhone/iPod Touch. It's also free and you can use it anywhere. It gives you timed exercise sessions and challenges to help you burn the fat. It ranges from the easier stuff to some pretty intense workouts that will leave you aching in the morning. It's worth trying - hope this helps.
Diet, proper exercise, and water. Those are key things needed when losing weight. In order to lose weight, you NEED to cut into your fat. Did you know that for the first twenty minutes of your workout, you're not even cutting into your fat? That's right, you need to do cardio for at least twenty minutes before it even begins cutting into your fat. Lowering calories will help, but you need to supplement it with plenty of water, plenty of rest, and proper exercise. Cardio is key, but you need to stay consistent. Watch your food. just because it has less calories, doesn't mean it's good for you. Remember that. Other factors may be the cause of you not being able to lose weight. Don't focus on simply calories. Focus on your entire diet as a whole and make smart choices about what you eat. Good luck!
You are putting your body into starvation mode when you continually eat less than 1200 calories a day!!!!!
..ok, maybe not really, but you aren't giving your body ENOUGH fuel for the things you do, you need to be careful and try to cut other things than calories. Cut fat, cut Sodium, cut Carbs, try other things than to cut calories!
You should also check to see what your BMR is and eat no less than 1000 fewer than that.
For example, if your BMR is 2,500, then you shouldn't been eating less than 1,500 calories a day!
